What's the most trouble you've witnessed following City?

Believe it or not, worst I have seen at home was couple years back against Celtic Pre-season.

Never seen anything like it, Celtic brought about 7k with them and got smashed to bits in the coach park.

The buses and coaches were bricked, blues picking up rubble, steaming at everything.

Atmosphere started to turn pretty sinister why they started singing fuck the queen and booing renditions of rule Britannia, Rangers and them singing rebel songs.

My cousin, a Celtic fan, came down and sat with me, said reminded of an Old Firm game!

Worst I have encountered away was Cardiff away in the cup, lost 1-0 to a Nathan Blake goal.

City ran out of town.

Really surprised that happened just a couple of years ago especially for a pre season game. Thought that level of violence had disappeared.

First time I witnessed any trouble and lots of it was against Barnsley at home, I'm sure we won 2-0 in the cup. It was going off outside behind the Kippax. I was only a young lad so I looked round for my mate who was suppose to be looking after me, there he was on top of the fence by the turnstiles that separated the away fans knocking fuck out of their lot who was trying to climb the fence. Outside by the coaches it was two lines of fans just knocking fuck out of each other. I never told my parents what had happened as they'd never let me go again !

Im not dead sure prestwich it was that long ago but now you mention it im pretty sure it was as city didnt really take biggish mobs away in them days but did in cup games
I asked because I went up there for an FA Cup tie and there was a lot of trouble. The City fans were in the corner of the Gallowgate end but the home fans there behind the goal were too tightly packed in so they had to move them out and put them in the more sparsely populated City section. Fighting broke out and I think the game was suspended while they sorted it out.

There was a line of coppers across the pitch and some loony legged it out of the Leazes, presumably thinking the rest would follow, and launched himself on the coppers. Sadly he was all alone and they gave him a good kicking in the centre circle.

Luckily we had seats so were alright but when we stopped at Catterick on the way back, most of the Blues we saw were covered in blood or had black eyes.
Yep, i was in th gallowgate that day. Dotch and some other wythenshawe lads pulled the newcastle flag down that was fling at the back of the terrace and burnt the fucker! It all went downhill after that. Fighting on the corner of the pitch as te cops allowed the geordies to come into our end.
Dotch now theres a face and name i know from years ago, think your right it was the flag burning that set it all off but dont think they needed an excuse for violence that day they expected a city back down and got the shock of their lives roughest looking city mob iv ever seen

Worst trouble ever seen was at City after the Luton game - thousands hanging around - police cars overturned was bedlam.

Liverpool and everton away got quite scary at times - seen kids with stanley knives

only ever see City and Rags join forces once when City played liverpool at home and Rags were away at stoke - they joined together in manchester as Liverpool fans hadn't arrived in town.
They joined forces in 1969 united played Everton at home fa cup qtr they kicked off at 2 city played Tottenham fa cup qtr kicked off at 3, city were walking on mass towards town when united turned up, I thought this is going to be bedlam? Then the chant went up manchester tralalala, them it was manchester v cockney scousers, it was crazy, could never happen now!

I remember watching them from the Kippax being marched up claremont rd after the match had started. A proper mob!

Next thing they come piling through the the back of the north stand and knew it was only a matter of time till it went off.

Seeing them get absolutly twatted by the old bill that day is one of my best memories of Maine Rd.

That was the day the Milwall mob got off at Stockport and piled into the County fans who were making their way to Edgeley Park, and then jumped back on the trains to Piccadilly for a riot at Maine Road.
Think it were United that them Millwall piled into !

Correct it was UTD, think they were playing Forest away.

Leeds away in the 80's fighting all the way back to the station, came at us in the park felt like Zulu literally thousands came at us over the motorway into the park but about 100 stood and hand to hand fighting down the line before suddenly they were going backwards and we had them backing off before west Yorkshire old bill attacked us for having the cheek to defend ourselves, everton away in the 81 quarter final was as bad, during the match you had to shield yourself from the coins and other missiles then outside the walk back to the station was like black hawk down, geezers coming out of pubs with crates of beer to throw bottles at you women and kids throwing bottles at you and then every estate on scotty road turned out to throw everything at us from up high bricks bottles stones you name it they threw it whilst the scouse cnuts tried to get into police escort as we knocked them out more tried sneaking in all the way to the station, the replay was payback time liittle firm of theirs got out before game over and were under escort back to Oxford rd where one of biggest firms of city were waiting for them and they got it even with old bill protecting them, never once been everton without it kicking off,and the time at our place when city got in the platt lane stand was some of the worst trouble at city with mounted old bill on the Kippax to try to keep us from going over the fences at the scouse

Glad it wasnt just me!
We had moved to Sheffield from Denton and it was my first visit to Elland Road,I was only 11 and my dad was a hero that day,hes from Gorton so explains why he didnt seem to give a shit when someone tried to nick my scarf.
I on the otherhand had to change my underpants when I got home.
Coppers just escorted us to the Leeds mob and then left us,I actually think they enjoyed doing it.

What game is this exactly? I knew City's record at Elland Road in the early to mid 70's was piss poor and the excellent Man City stats backs this up.

1970-71 Lost 0-1
1971-72 Lost 0-3
1972-73 Lost 0-3
1973-74 Lost 1-0

Not even a single City goal? Yet Mamba mentions trouble after we draw level. Sorry to be picky I'm just a little confused?

Edit - upon further investigation a 2-2 draw was played at Elland Road with Willie scoring on the 1st March 1975.

I assume this is the game?

Yep , that was the game ......

'Tbilisis' just got his seasons mixed up , i thought it was more mid-seventies , than early seventies ........ Donachie didn't score many goals for us , but he equalised in the dying minutes of that game to make it 2-2 , and it caused trouble galore for us outside ....... it was an absolute nightmare getting back to that station !

To say there was 'trouble' would be an understatement .... it seemed like the whole of yorkshire was against us , they pelted us with bricks/bottles/lumps of rock/ and coal down the road from the ground ... and then hundreds of em' just waded in amongst us ... we were seriously outnumbered , and they knew it.

It was the longest two miles of my life , and what few coppers had been around us as we left the ground simply vanished and left us to it .....

but West Yorkshire police have long admitted that they just didn't have a clue how to cope with so many Leeds yobs back in those days ...... it wasn't until the late 80's , maybe even 90's , when they finally made some headway into curbling the problem.

Stand corrected,it was 75,I was 14 and still shit myself.

Loved that Dark Blue kit with Red and White diagonal stripe, can still see Willie scoring the goal now, think its a day I will take with me to the grave, for all the wrong reasons.
