What's the most trouble you've witnessed following City?

From my vague memory.....

Kippax in the early 70s when the 'segregation' was a piece of rope separating the away fans in the Platt Lane corner of the Kippax from the City fans in the bulk of the Kippax, mainly against the rags. Loads of charges both ways into the opposing fans and bricks, bottles and coins flying

Outside the Kippax against Luton 83 when we conceded in the last minute and got relegated. It was a pure riot outside, police vans and black mariahs turned over and bricks flying everywhere

Bad atmosphere at that Full Members Cup final in the mid 80s we were outnumbered and the game was mental

Notts County away in the mid to late 80s under Billy MacNeil. I think we were 2-0 down at half time, there must have been 12,000 city there expecting a win and promotion, many infancy dress and quite a few musical instruments. Party atmosphere turned sour and at half time there were a few seats torn up by city and thrown on the pitch. Some dickhead came on the tannoy and said if the city didnt behave the game would be abandoned......12,000 people immediatley started to riot and trash the place. Half timelasted 45 minutes, eveutually they just brought the teams out, city scored and everyone enjoyed the rest of the game

Stoke away when we won 1-5 but both teams got relegated from the second tier in 97. We were in one of the stoke sides, the main city fans were on our right. There were city fans everywhere. It was the first time stoke had sold out the Britannia. At least 12,000 city there. It was kicking off all overthe place in the ground, city fans getting ejected but gathering on that hill outside where you can watch. It was like the Somme outside with fans charging each other bricks flying and police horses galloping around like the cavalry.

Old Trfford for the League Cup semi final defeat 3 years or so ago. Also the Wembley semi had quite a bit of stuff going on. Those are the ones i remember after a few
beers

When Millwall brought about 3000 in the nineties I think.

Leeds away in Cup in late 70's

FA cup final reply in 81, intruders in our end
That millwall mob was unreal, I turned a corner onto Lloyd St to be faced with a thousand 40 something cockneys all foaming at the mouth with about 6 coppers trying to contain them and about 15 city in hot pursuit, mental!

We was in town when we heard a rumour that Millwall had got off at Stockport to evade the police and run riot on Edgeley high street. We didnt believe it untl the police came into the Whitworth boozer and said you better leave 2000 Millwall are in a police escort ready to cause carnage, He wasn't wrong. It was just as bad afterwards on Wilmslow Road after the game when city fans ran riot and started looting all the shops.

Other than Stoke away when we got relagated the most trouble has been against United. When we beat them 3-1 last derby at Maine Road. We was in the Abbey pub a couple of hours later when a couple of hundred United tried storming the pub, luckily the police intercepted them as we wouldnt have stood a chance as most blues had already gone.
Somehow I got involved with walking with a few blues back from Old Trafford to Maine Road after us drawing 1-1 when Steve Howey scored. I didnt realise there was a planned meet up near the Sherwood with United. It was mayhem, i got chased across Whitworth Park with bricks flying at me, luckily i managed to jump into a cab.

The scariest was after us beating them 2-1 for the 50th anniversary of Muncih. We was in a minibus (ironically passing our own stadium) on the way back, when a transit van passed and threw a bucket of piss at our bus. The traffic lights turned red, which was the cue for a few city fans to run off the bus and head for the Transit. the back doors suddenly opened and a group of reds piled out with hammers and other tools. One crazy bloke was swinging a hammer and smacking the mini bus threatening anyone who had the balls to come near him. Glsd to get ou of that unscathed.

3 sick in my mind from the 80s....Notts County away in about 85, needed to win to get promoted but were 3-0 down at half time, city fans tried to get it abandoned. The FA cup 3rd round (I think) defeat at old Trafford when it kicked off at the end of the game and bricks flying through the train window on the way back from Anfield.

, Leeds as well but police horses more, the biggest and most evil hooligans ever
I remember being at Leeds one year in the 80's.
It was a bit moody in the car park and the bill rounded up a load of blues and put us in one of those overpass things.
A cop was in their on his horse and City fans started chanting loudly, horse panicked, started jumping up and down and his rider was pretty much knocked out as his head was bouncing off the concrete ceiling.

I've seen the line "I had my scarf nicked" about four times in this thread. Nobody recalls the times they got themselves a broken jaw, but they do recall their scarf being pinched! ;)
