Gorton, the land of the leg-iron,crutch,walking stick and the motorised wheelchair! I take great pleasure in sitting at the lights on Hyde road and revving the engine as they cross the road and watching the twats run!Scrounging bastards.

Didn't realise that still existed; I had a curry from there when I was 8-9 and hated it, so have avoided it since then.

Paradise is where it's at.

I lived on Hamilton Road for 2 years so those takeaways were regularly used when I couldn't be bothered to cook. Was the Paradise on the opposite side of the road to the Blue Moon or was that the Mirage? One used to do a chicken kebab to die for.
God, that street brings back some memories. Did my last year of primary school at St Robert's, just round the corner on Montgomery Road.
I'm a St Robert's boy myself, lived three streets away off Hamilton/Beresford Road.
Dave and Gary Bennett grew up on Montgomery Road opposite the school, their mum was a big, fierce Jamaican lady who used to collect the tickets at Levenshulme train station.
Another pair of brothers who played for City, Darren and Jason Beckford, grew up a couple of hundred yards away in Clitheroe Road, also off Hamilton Road. Lived opposite my schoolmates, salford paul's cousins.
Proper blue area that.

Paradise was on the same side as Blue Moon, I think Mirage was the one accross the road. There's a Sanam there now...all snazzy and new.

I live off Hamilton Road, opposite a church.

St Robert's was knocked down a few years ago.

You forgot Urmston.
you forgot Flixton :)

Very posh, but you forgot Stretford.(I'm joking the only good thing to come from Stretford is Stretford Mall and that's only half-decent.

When Stretford Mall/Arndale Centre first opened in the early 70s there was a fountain and people used to throw coins in.

At lunch time we used to pedal our bikes up from Urmston Grammar School and scoop all the 1p and 2p coins out with our hands as you could get a packet of crisps for 3p and a bag of chips for 5p.

Considering there are hardly any of the same answers, I'd say that most people do not "know".

It was a sad day for Longsight when McTucky's closed down. At least we still have Chicken Hut.

There was a Pizza King near Crowcroft Park, but that got closed down thanks to the food standards nazis. Some great bastardised names of take-aways round here.
Well, there's still the Blue Moon takeaway on Stockport Road, pizzas, kebabs, burgers etc

Paradise?wtf.
Does the fact that Maza and Lazeeza are always full of Asians and Paradise is mostly empty not give you a hint?
Or do you go in there because they just did a refurb and you like to park your raggity arse on the faux leather seats.

Maybe I just avoid Maza and Lazeeza because I'm a massive racist.

I don't remember it having leather seats - it was all chrome last time I was in there.

Yeah; seen that on Google Maps. The school and the church. We left the area in '82. What's on the site now?
