Not sure if anyone posted the gif... but this is disgusting. I really want to know what defensive coaches teach the "Long Jump" tackle

official reply to complaint (included various video/photos)

"Dear Mr. Brett,

Thank you for contacting the Football Association and I apologise for the delay with regards to our response.

FIFA guidelines aimed at avoiding the “re-refereeing” of matches generally prevent The FA from taking disciplinary action on incidents which are seen and dealt with at the time by the match officials (this includes taking no action). As a general rule, if the match officials see an incident and have jurisdiction to take action, The FA cannot act retrospectively. The referee saw the incident and as such no action can be taken.

Over the summer break The FA proposed changes to the rules regarding taking retrospective action relating to on/off-field disciplinary matters, but the football stakeholders, including The Premier League and Football League, resolved to continue with the present application.

Therefore The FA will continue to apply our rules in such a way that avoids the re-refereeing of incidents that have been deemed to have been seen and dealt with by the referee.

Best wishes,

See the Ben Thatcher, Adebayor and (possibly) Balotelli incidents for why this stock response is...

utter fucking bollocks

Think everyone is being a bit harsh on Webby. Remember Nigels chest tackle on ,I think it was Alonso in the world cup. The whole of the football world saw it except Mr Webb.
So the guy probably has eyesight problems.

Right. The situation with my rule change.

If Whelan had been found guilty of violent conduct for his tackle on Javi Garcia by a retrospective panel he would have been banned for the next three games in any competition, excluding friendlies, against Manchester City.

If Whelan were to move clubs before the three-game ban came into effect, this transfer would be viewed as a frivolous transfer and he would miss the first three competitive fixtures for his new team regardless of the league or country.

If Whelan were to move clubs after serving a third of the ban (one game), this transfer would be viewed as frivolous and he would miss the first two games for his new team regardless of the league or country, and so on.
