When can I officially be concerned?

Yes lets sack yet another manager like we have consistently done for the last 30 odd years .....no coincidence that weve won nothing in all that time ...........Theyve given him the best tool to the job ..ie loads of money ...........The 2nd best is TIME to complete the job ..........Irrespective of whether i would have picked him or stuck by him personally it really is imperitive we as a club are seen to give managers a decent chance to get it right .

the coincidence may be that for 30 years we have employed and supported managers who just weren't up to the job at the time.

if time was the only thing a manager needs to be the next fergiscum how come dario gradi never marched up the leagues with crewe ? the crewe fans backed up to the end and beyond

the answer is he was not up to the job and like some fans on here the crewe fans accepted effort and good PR over results

Anything above 8 is a PL record for us, get some perspective. Before you moan its cost us 200M, its probably cost us nearer £1bn to win nothing for 32 years up to Hughes joining. We know money is no indicator of success.

I disagree totally, money is the absolute indicator of success. The richest clubs are the best ones, and I expect us to be in that category in time.

Would you be happy with us finishing 7th this season by the way?

Btw, what will it take for you to accept him? If you have been against him since day 1 will you boo and resign if he wins something?
isn't this forum about airing opinion? why berate somebody for having an opinion that differs from yours? i'm sure he isn't the only blue who doesn't rate hughes as a manager.
Because he's a total Doom and Gloom merchant

Clearly, which is why Leeds and Newcastle are battering down the door to Europe. Money spent badly, which is what we have done for years, is no indicator. As for richest do you mean debt or operating costs?

Would i be happy? Probably disappointed as i realise we have a great opportunity to finish 4th, but i realise it is an improvement, no matter how hard people will argue.

Leeds ran out of money and had to sell their players. They prove my point, they were in the semi finals of the champions league when they had money to spend, third division when they didn't. Newcastle are the example "how not to manage a club", but they've never been amongst the richest (neither have Leeds FWIW).

As for richest, I mean the clubs that spend the most win the most.

No matter what the "inners" or "outers" think, Hughes is here for the rest of the season come what may.

The Abu Dhabi business model preaches long-term growth and stability.

Even if we finish outside the top 4 I think he will still be in charge next season.

Not my preference, but just a bold prediction.

Oh, and I also believe that his options of using the transfer market as a way of making up for the lack of coaching abilities may be seriously curtailed.

So you win some, you lose some...

While I think Wenger is the best operator in the transfer market, when was the last time they won something?

FWIW, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United and Chelsea have been the biggest spenders on wages consistently in the past 5 year, often doubling 5th and 6th place.

Depends on what the starting point was............

Liverpool is a toss up, I can see us winning well, but I can also see us slipping to defeat against a vastly understrength dippers side (typical City of course).

Shipping 3 to Burnley at home was bad enough, but if we dont get a win against Hull I may well start to doubt my boy Hughes, regardless of the 'give him a season' argument - they are the games you have to win if we are to have any shot of top 4, top 6, whatever.
