When was your first season ticket and when were they introduced at City ?

Being a total gloryhunter my first ST was I think 84-85 Our 2nd season in the old 2nd division, was back in Manchester after being away & had a part time job whilst studying so blew my cash on watching the sublime Gordon Smith & the blockbuster shooting of David a Phillips. Think that was the season Melrose scored from bear the half way line vs Notts County as well? Happy days

Platt Lane 1976/77.

The first game that I remember going to and remember the score was 2-2 Sunderland cup game in '73 but I know this wasn't the first game I attended.

Same for me, 76/77 season, Junior Blue's season ticket sat on the old yellow benches. I didn't like it though so the following season my Dad got me one for the Kippax with him & my uncles. I'd been going on & off for a couple of seasons prior to that but only remember the odd game. In fact I remember eating chocolate digestives & drinking coffee from a flask more than the football, though to be fair I'd have been 5 or 6 years old at the time.

My 1st season ticket was the year we were in div 2 98-99 aged 15
before that I used to pay on the gate till the kippax got knocked down then I got free tickets often through school and junior footy

99 here. I've had three spells. Kippax DD Lower, 211 at our new ground and then 216 before relocating to 117. I don't anticipate not renewing for the forseeable unless things go silly.

Kippax upper 96/97. Bought my ticket circa March 96 when we still had a decent chance of staying up. 96/97 and 97/98 were about as rough years as you could envisage watching City at home every week. People who say that players we have now, our manager or our recent performances are the worst ever must be deranged.

I bought my first season ticket around 1972. It was when the seats were installed in the North Stand. I had been watching City since the latter part of the 1962-3 season. I don't think that season tickets were available anywhere but the Main Stand as they were only available for numbered seats. The Platt Lane Stand was seated but not numbered. I didn't want to sit in the Main Stand so paid at the gate even though I rarely missed a home (or away) match.

I recall the North Stand season tickets being very cheap. Was it around £13-£14 per ticket? Not only did I get one but so did my Mum and Dad who were not that regular as attenders. We even bought an extra ticket as a spare in case anyone wanted to come. I retained my season ticket until I away from Manchester in 1977. It would be 35 years before I was able to get another.

81/82 platt lane junior blues section, but most games used to climb over into the kippax down by the corner flag which they let you do but not the other way. It used to kick off with away fans in the Platt Lane every other week as a lot used to go in there. Remember one game against Everton being like a mini riot which seemed to go on for most of the 1st half. Derbys were interesting too

Another time remember a few Sunderland fans giving me and my mate some grief. We were only kids so just tried to ignore it. Next think we're surrounded by a load of lads and one said to us 'step aside boys'... Then proceeded to kick the shit out of these Mackems. One of them asked us if we wanted to stick the boot in too lol

Moved permanently into the kippax a couple of years later and stayed there until we moved to the etihad

Although my dad had been taking me from being a baby (really annoying that I have no idea what my first actual game was, though I have vivid memories of Rodney Marsh's debut), we couldn't afford season tickets. I started going in the Kippax in 1983. Started a YTS in 1984, started to save up and then bought my first Kippax season ticket for the 1985-86 season. Bought it before the March price rise. Will have to dig out my programmes because I can't remember if I paid £17 or £27. Pretty certain it was£17 but seems so cheap. Back then you'd be 1st year season ticket holders and then regulars after a year - a few years earlier and a few years later they had 2nd year,3rd year and so on. It all depended on demand.

Dad took me to the odd game from 1995 onwards. Got the season ticket in 98. The season in division 2. I've seen (almost) everything.
