When was your first season ticket and when were they introduced at City ?

Glory hunting Cnut that I am, first season ticket was 84-85 season Billy McNeill at the helm. Gordon smith sublimely wandering about, David Phillips hitting everything very hard scoring a few to boot, Steve Kinsey permatanned & not fulfilling his 25 consecutive years as young player of the season, oh and Tony Cunningham......

1978/79 season -Kippax Junior, the book with tickets not ripped out is in the loft somewhere. I used to go with my Grandad who took me to my 1st game v Arsenal in 73/74 season.
We used to get the number 50 bus from Burnage and get off on Anson Rd and walk through Rusholme, I used to love playing "guess the voucher number" on my way to the game..... I was very young and there were only 3 channels on the black and white telly.

My first game, City v Norwich at Maine Road 94/95 season. Think it was a 0-0. Beagrie, Flitcroft, Walsh, Quinn, Rosler, Summerbee etc were all on my wall by the end of that season.

I remember when there were only 2 channels but we did have colour tv in 71,remember watching my first cup final in colour Arsenal v Liverpool yellow shirts and blue shorts Arsenal and all red Scoucers.Arsenal won the double and Charlie George got the winner at Wembley.

Just imagine if the agueroooo goal had been scored in Maine Road in front of the old kippax!!

It would have been bedlam !!

So true, we didn't realise how special it was until it was gone.
Many great memories but the 3 that stand out for atmosphere, noise and raw emotion for me are the fa cup qf replay v Everton in 81, the 5-1 v Utd in 89 and 5-1 v Charlton in 85...that was made extra special by getting on the pitch at the end of the game

The first standing season tickets (the Kippax) came out for season 1974/5.Price 7/6 about 37p.My first season ticket.

Are you sure on that pal, decimalisation came in in Feb'71 though items could be marked up in decimal first then lsd second.

Interested in this because I recall that my dad must have got his the 2nd or 3rd year kippax St ST's were out and I still went in the cash turnstile for a season before getting my junior ticket, '76 or '77 for mine (age 12 or 13) seems about right. I know dad's wasn't first year as we remarked about the match number board above the turnstile and he got one at first because the queue at the ST turnstile was shorter. Also, I think the match numbers were sequential in the first few seasons before Bernie started mixing them up.

My dad immediately became a 'regular' season ticket holder but I had to go through being a 1st year ST holder and I think 2nd year ST holder (but I don't think 3rd year as happened later) before becoming a regular.

I also remember the 1st to 3rd year being written in a large light blue outline letter on all the lettered application forms at the back, a fore runner of the points categories for cup and away games.

Being trying to find match day price for season 75/76
