Where would you live if you could

If I moved my dream places would be either overlooking Lake Garda or alternatively somewhere in the Alps for the trail running opportunities.

However I absolutely adore where I live now in the UK, and so maybe Im not that ambitious anymore, as I feel like Im probably living my own personal dream right now.

I'd go back to NZ. I did 25yr in Auckland. This time I'd go for a shack on the West coast, South of Hokitika.

Me and the wife are seriously talking about leaving the Gold Coast and moving down to the southernmost Australian state of Tasmania. It's an island about two thirds the size of England with a population of about 600k. It's a bit chilly in winter but lovely summers, main city is Hobart and main towns are Launceston and Devonport.
They call it the apple Isle due to its cool temps, orchards.
Driving around it is a bit Yorkshire-ish. Stone buildings and sheep. Lots of hills and quite mountainous on the west coast. It's a very beautiful place with lots of walking tracks and quiet roads. Cornish type coast.
Houses are considerably cheaper also.

I bought a house a few years back that had trees like that surrounding it. It was awful.
Very dark, grass wouldnt grow, moss n damp every where. Horrible

Anyway, to answer the question… no where but where i live now. Blighty has everything i want, yeah of course the thought of living in the sun attracts, but really i dont want to leave my pals of 40 years, my family, city.

I love that i can get a text on a saturday afternoon saying “fancy a quick pint” and 10 mins later im sat with 2-3 mates. Id miss stuff like that
