Where would you live if you could

The Greek one I hope.

Sadly in reality that ship has sailed for us but, while there if fit enough have a walk upto the Filerimos Cross, if not bus/taxi. The views are fantastic up there.
Thanks, done my one day traipsing around in the mid day sun, we visited Lindos.
Meet Darwen and Trent.

Currently living in spain myself, and although still in my 20's, i can completely empathise with the bits you said above.
Bureaucracy, healthcare, banking, the language, all present their challenges here. Can imagine as people get older, dealing with all that is just too much of a hassle.
@mancityscot You are lucky you have youth on your side. A couple I knew in France both taught French in school, then retired, so they were perfect for the area, gorgeous house, lifestyle, he even accepted giving up City for his dream...... they came home.
It sounds good but unless you are currently living in duckingfield why move.

Exactly why after 20 years of living in Ibiza my parents sold up last year and moved back to the UK. Healthcare was the big one and with my Dad being in his 80's and quite a few health problems, they felt much more comfortable being back here. They do miss it a lot though, especially now were heading to autumn and winter.

I've spent most of my adult life overseas and can't wait to move back abroad. We only really came back for the children's education. Back to Prague most likely but wouldn't mind another year or two in Northern Italy at some stage.

The UK is ok but personally I find there are far nicer places to live. The main thing when moving abroad is to have realistic expectations. It's not likely to be the answer to all of your problems.
