Which foreign teams do you have a soft spot for and why?

Yes they were awesome. I was convinced they’d win it that year but they didn’t. Interesting that they still persist with only Basque players. I don’t think that’s a good idea in the modern inclusive world.

I don't mind it to be fair, if / as / when they succeed it will go down as an unbelievable achievement...........

Ajax for Cruyff and the strip. Also Barcelona for the same reason. Apart from my City team and Brazil, these two clubs were my subbuteo favourites and ones i tried to follow. Great footballing sides

Subbuteo seems to have had a huge impact on a lot of supporters of a certain age.

I got bought my first set for my 9th birthday. I simply couldn’t wait to get home from school and play it.

At the same time, I had Football Manager for the Spectrum and used to buy some sweets from a paper shop in Chorlton - they were what people would recognise as Love Hearts today but these were football editions. Each sweet had the nickname of a club on and every packet contained a small piece of paper with one of the 92 club badges on. I was obsessed with badges and now have a scarf with almost 300 pin badges on.

Panini sticker books only added to my growing obsession with all things football.

Keep an eye out for Fsv mainz 05, eintract frankfurt as lived in the area and have friends who support both.
Celta Vigo went to galica with lads school amazing place and amazing people. Watched rags v vigo the game in a bar with my lads penfriend and family not one person would let me pay for drink. Had a great night.

Wolfsburg is like a post-apocalyptic version of Stockport, but as a miserable Mancunian it was oddly familiar and I felt oddly bonded with the locals who had to put up with living there.

I thought it’d be clearer sober but I still don’t know who Draxler is and what you mean by stay in Berlin.

Aah right. Did you manage to get to any other grounds whilst you were living in Germany? My lad is fascinated by the idea of going to watch Leipzig at home. I must admit that experiencing the East of Germany intrigues me as well.
