Which game was the turning point

Two weekends...
Sat 13th April/Sun 14th April
City 5 Luton 1
Liverpool 0 Palace 1
Arsenal 0 Villa 2
Gifts to City and proof the mentality isn't quite there elsewhere...

Saturday 20th April
FA Cup Semi Final: Chelsea 0 - City 1.
City were totally knackered after the disappointment of the Real Madrid game 2.5 days earlier. sheduling for UK TV doesnt help English clubs in Europe at all.
Somehow we held out and won. Though we missed a ouple of other good chances too - not quite as lucky as the press made out.
A boost to the teams confidence to kick-on from.

Also the collective kicking the team gave each other after the Villa away game. Although we blew it against Palace a few weeks later we were unlucky and should have won but for Palace heroics. From there we got into the groove again.

I actually think the Club World Cup games. We were properly rocking at that point, maybe just after the Palace and Villa games? To have a few games to just relax, find our rhythm, build some confidence was so lucky.

Put it this way - if we were playing 2 tough prem games instead of the Japanese and Brazilian teams straight after being battered by Villa, would we have got the momentum to not lose for the rest of the season?

We didn't look back after that point.
Agreed.

The "break" for this competition came at exactly the right time. It gave the players a chance to regroup.

I think it was Newcastle game ,but lots of games are important ,city did it that's what matters unreal end of season run
