Which of our Youngsters will make it with us?

To say our youngsters are not good enough is an incredibly false statement because our U21/U19 team is one of the best youth teams in European football.

Lopes for example will be at City next season for me and will definitely become a top 4 player and hopefully with us.

As you and others have said, if Milner goes then we should draft in Lopes as a direct replacement. He would satisfy the homegrown requirement and would save us spending stupid money on Barkley.

In terms of our youngsters coming through, I am biased as I want a local lad to succeed. So one of Evans, Glendon or Barker would be amazing. George Evans to me looks a possibility. I would like to see him in a real game first.

If they are good enough, and I don't watch the youth teams, they will be given their chance.

We are a different club now to the one that gave players like Bradley Wright-Phillips and Lee Croft their chance. We were strapped for cash, and didn't have much choice. Stuart Pearce told the youngsters of the day to come to City, because they would be given the opportunity in the first team.

Those days are over, but the investment in the academy shows the intent to bring them on. I would think very few will be given a real chance, but those that are will be special talents, whoever they may be.

I'm sure they are there, and given the glowing reports of the academy teams, some of them will make the grade.

A lot of these guys look very promising but as always it's difficult to give them all a shot over a couple of seasons since the stakes are so high.

I say Lopes and Barker for now.

Send out some of the others on loan so they develop a little more and they might get their chance in future seasons. Important thing is not to be too quick to rush young players in to the main team to have their mistakes held up to the tremendous scrutiny.

I'd put money on Lopes, Denayer, Garcia and Faour. The rest all have varying chances but I'm not so sure.

got two words for you.. Brahim Abdelkader

Ain't seen nothing yet. Really. He's got a long way to go to justify the hype. Hope he does, but right now there's far more chance of Manu Garcia making it imo.
