Do what I do up here. The majority of hacks and TV bellends support Rangers, so when they start their pish, I always know they are worried and this makes me happy.

You are never going to stop them, so enjoy it. The fact they look for every conceivable thing to have a go, shows they arent as confident of our decline as they would like. Happy days

Is that how it is up there; pro-Rangers/anti-Celtic media? I would have imagined it would be pro-Rangers+Celtic and anti-everyone else.

No fans, we average over 50,000 a week and slightly less than the dippers yet the myth has been cultivated that we play in front of 10 people and a dog. I’ve been following City since 1986 and never heard this crap being peddled before the takeover. It seemed to come to prominence after our fa cup win and then the 2012 league title. It was basically chucked at us as the rags had to take that banner down and didn’t have anything else to rib us with.

In the age of social media and misinformation this has infiltrated the great unwashed who have had their chips pissed on by City.

To be fair there’s a view now creeping in after several top away games by our fans this season, that we have some of the best away fans around.

I’ve seen Newcastle, West Ham and Tottenham fans recently say we have the best in the league.

Arsenal fans were singing that after the game, which is ludicrous as we won our first trophy, the FA Cup in 1904, while they were still an amateur team playing in Plumstead. They weren't elected to the Football League until 1913. They won their first league title a few years before us but we won every other trophy well before they won the same one.

Tactical/cynical fouling being the foundation of success is the biggest myth going, always in reference to Fernandinho who was a centre back 2 seasons ago and hasn't played much last or so far this. If we ever do have problems it's usually the likes of Kante, Fred, Wijnaldum rampaging freely through the middle. If anything Gundogan, De Bruyne, Mahrez etc need to be clipping heels or sly pulls much more in intense games, especially champions league.

Depends on where the lies/misinformation comes from and the level of associated hypocrisy. Liverpool fans talking about financial doping/cheating/plastic fans/the behaviour of our supporters in any regard being the apotheosis of such hypocrisy. Doesn’t bother me anywhere near as much if it comes from a Villa fan (for example).

I dislike the ‘no history’ thing, not principally because it’s plainly untrue, and therefore ignorant, as we have an incredibly rich history, but because it betrays a disgusting wider attitude towards other clubs, not just City, given we’re about the sixth most successful club in English football history.

It’s a perspective that says any club, other than the most successful two or three is worthless, as therefore is the attachment and affection that its supporters have for it. That is an utterly reprehensible scummy, attitude to have - beneath contempt actually - and deserves calling out at every opportunity. The feelings that a supporter of a League 2 club which has never won a trophy has for their club are as worthwhile as those a supporter of a multiple CL winning club has, arguably more in some instances.

i file a lot of the FFP, related party, bigger squad stuff under ‘the Sheikh will get bored’. Water off a duck’s back and comically wrong. Good ammo for future deployment.

So upon reflection , when it’s aimed at City fans (or other fans), it bothers me more than if it’s directed at the club or its owners.
