Emotionally, Mexico 70. Remembered from a childhood decades ago. Colour tele. A great England team. My first and only full sticker book - still got it!. Esso coins with England squad on. David Coleman commentating down a payphone. That Brazil team, their kit and that goal.

1990 and 2018 for England over performing. Not much faith this time I'm afraid.

Argentina ‘78 was great and the first one I can really remember well. The opening music for it by the BBC was brilliant.
Spain ‘82 was good too in the later rounds (I remember the early England games being terrible).
Italia ‘90 was great, but ultimately disappointing. It was England’s for the taking.
Since then I’ve got less and less interested. This upcoming one is complete bollocks and I doubt I’ll watch a single minute of it.

Agree that the upcoming one will be shit. All I know is that England will have team involving Harry Maguire who's is too shit for MU and will be in a group with Wales, Iran and the USA.

The Wales game will be good. I'm not interested beyond that.

First one was 78 Argentina the ticker tape thinking it was brilliant,82 Spain my favourite was upset when Brazil got knocked out by Italy what a team they were,proper samba football and that druggie cnut Rossi somehow ending up top scorer..
