Since getting to the final will mean automatic qualification into the Europa cup I'd rather see Sunderland - how funny would it be to see the rags not even getting into the Thursday cup!
It doesn't though, only the FA Cup runners up get the UEFA place if the winner already qualifies for europe. In the Capital One, if the winners qualify for europe, then the Europa League slot goes to the next place in the league, not the runners up.

So we could then, hand utd a Europa league spot by winning the capital one cup and handing the backdoor spot to the next league placing

Us winning the Capital One Cup could inadvertently get them a place in Europe, as it could go down to 7th place, dependant on the FA Cup winners!

That's a possibility but if we do win it, it won't be the first thing on my mind. But it could still depend on who plays in the FA Cup final. If it's a team that finished above the rags playing a team below them then the team below will get the EL place. So if the rags finish 7th and that happens then they won't get a European spot at all.

Re: Capital one Cup Final who do you want united or sunderland ?

Sunderland, obviously.
I want the rag vermin out as soon as possible, and if the black cats put them out, their morale for the rest of the season will be rock bottom, the media will be on their case, players will want away, and nobody decent will want to go there.
Also, wanting the rags in the final means wanting them to win a match to get there, and I never want them to win, ever.
This is an utter no-brainer of a question.

I quite like the idea of United being in the Europa League

Worse for them in all sorts of ways if they're not. Their UEFA coefficient would drop and they'd lose a load of money as they'd have far less games and therefore less gate receipts (£3-4m per game).

Erm, well, yeah - apart from tomorrow I suppose.
God - that was posted through gritted teeth...

Re: Capital one Cup Final who do you want united or sunderland ?

It would have to be Sunderland don't want the rags anywhere near Wembley. Besides don't want to give them any chance of winning anything this or any other season.

You still don't have to want them to win, a draw would be sufficient, helps neither team.

I don't suppose Match Abandoned As A Draw Due To Ground Being Obliterated By Al-Q'aeda Suicide Bomber Attack At Half Time And Both Teams Deducted Ten Points Each For Using Ineligible Mascots is a realistic possibility?

Chelsea hammering the rags 10-0 but getting 3 points deducted for fielding an ineligible player would do.

Re: Capital one Cup Final who do you want united or sunderland ?

I agree with nijinskys i don,t ever want the rags to win anything not even the toss of the coin at the start...................FOOK ALL !!!!!!!!!

They have a fair few who are illiterate, illegitimate and illegible - surely that's close enough?

Re: Capital one Cup Final who do you want united or sunderland ?

1) It'd be sweet to sit back and observe the meltdown if they lost at home again.
2) Derby nerves is one thing, Wembley derby nerves would kill my trembling little heart.

Therefore give us S'land, please. Johnno to get another hattrick at the swamp.

You don't want their fan base increasing due to yet another tragedy, surely?

I'm not sure they need any excuse to milk misfortune, mate.
They could milk a fucking bull.

My head says Sunderland as it eliminates the possibility of losing to the rags in a final and handing Moyes his first piece of silverware. I've seen them beat us at Wembley already and it wasn't a happy experience despite it being a friendly.

On the other hand, a derby final would be exciting... If we beat them it would rank alongside the FA cup semi final triumph a few years ago.

Who do you want us to play at Wembley?
