Who is the Best All-Around Player England Has Ever Produced?

At what international tournaments have they produced anything of note.
Well, Rooney in his very first but if you’re gonna say players who’ve played great for England you’d have a very small list to pick from. If you were going off tournaments you could say Kane was for being top scorer in the 2018 world cup. In actual fact he was bang average but scored plenty against pub teams early in the tournament.

Rooney and Gerrard proved themselves at the top level for many years and were both very natural all round footballers

So none of the two.
Top level includes international football so that makes very few recent players should be included.
Golden generation my arse.

Foden looks shit too doesn’t he! We’ll go with Michael Owen then. Don’t think you quite got the question in terms of naturally gifted all round footballer. As in great passer, can tackle, quick, good shot, vision and could play different positions.

Complete.

OK, I'm late to this particular party but Pep has produced the current version of John Stones, not England!

Southpark and Klapp etc are only daring to try what Pep has been doing for years with trusting defenders to move into a more advanced and creative role, think Zabba and he left us years ago!

An English manager at City would still have John Stones lumping balls up field from Centre Half.

Pep is a genius and the fucking media put him in Taggart's shadow.
All Taggart ever did was spend more than everyone else to play the same game, piece of piss anyone can do that. And took him 4 fucking years to succeed!

Pep = Genius and reinvented the game.

Taggart = Rag fraud given the time and money to drop lucky!

Taggart was so lucky in dropping a Title winning team just as the PL was created and changed football for ever in relation to finance.
If he hadn't won the league that year he may have been fucked off and the following years of success would not have happened.

You need luck in football and he had his fair share.
Pep, as he says has had to work twice as hard to earn anything he has achieved with us.

I'm too young to have seen Moore or Bell.

In my lifetime I'd certainly have Shearer up there. Fast, two footed, clinical, aggressive and scored free kicks for fun. Great in the air too. If he was around now he'd be the only one able to come close to Haaland.

Gazza was also another who had the lot and he could've been one of the best in the world.

I don't like to say it but Scholes was very good. If we're talking just about England games, Beckham usually delivered.

I think Foden has the potential to be the best though!
Dozy David was a one-trick pony.

As for an all-round player, I’d say Silky is one of the best around.

A mate in Stoke, when I lived there, reckoned John Charles was the best all-rounder he’d ever seen. He said the Gentle Giant could play centre-half or centre-forward equally as well.
