Unfortunately looking at our squad you could probably come up with more names for shifting on than keeping around. The whole thing is just lumbered, one dimensional and slow.
Strikers - I'd keep Aguero. Dzeko deserves to be first choice in a team playing to his strengths, which he won't get here. Tevez doesn't understand what a team is and is past his best anyway. Keep Guidetti.
ACM/Wingers - Get rid of Nasri, Sinclair (if we'll refuse to use him), keep Silva obviously.. Oh look, we're out of names.
Midfield - Keep Milner because everyone needs one. I'm wondering if keeping Barry around for the experienced role is worth his wages, but I've no idea what he's paid. Rodwell is a constant injury concern, no-one to build a team around - Could grow out of it but is there no-one better? Garcia is the slowest player in the world, a stupid deadline day mistake that should be corrected. Most controversial player to go would be Yaya. If we were to replace him with someone like Vidal I think we could create a much better balanced side. I think as with Tevez, the side will eventually outgrow him.
Midfield is where we're truly baffling to be honest. Barry, Milner, Garcia, Rodwell and Yaya. Who thought having all those players in the same team would be a good idea? The lack of variety over 5 players is criminal.
Defence I'd drop Kolarov (even though he's nowhere near as bad as some make out and has on many occasions been not only our most effective attackers but also the one player who looks like he gave a shit, also isn't phased by anything or anyone, which we need more of), but I imagine he's insanely priced to play second fiddle to Clichy. Maicon - again, why? Lescott is another who's older and probably on more than he should be. Micah to stay because he's City, and Zab to stay because if we tried to sell him I think he'd chain himself to the Etihad and refuse to leave (and because he's clearly brilliant). Kompany and Nastasic obviously both to stay. Kolo to go.
Nout wrong with the keeping situation other than Hart being shit this season and needing to get back to the level he was at last season.
Once you strip out the oldies, and everyone who's either a crock or slower than molasses, we can barely field 11 players + subs. It's no wonder we're so bloody pedestrian.
We're not going to get rid of them all in one window, but I wouldn't be surprised to see all of the above mentioned gone within two summer transfer windows.
