Obviously not mate but there are players available but we don’t seem to want to pay the prices for them? That’s all well and good in theory but we only needed two players this summer and have only actually invested in the one area we weren’t desperate to add to?

Transfer Tavern have thrown Casemiro into the ring. I have to admit I haven’t noticed him as he has been overshadowed by other players in their team. Seems like we could get a good deal as both Real and PSG seem to need money for their transfer targets/ to avoid FFP sanctions. Any thought about him? They (Transfer Tavern) value him around £54m...
Don’t forget though we have others that can “ do a job” ;-)
It's also completely hypothetical and there's a transfer window in January.
We won every game Gundogan played there including beating Arsenal, Chelsea & Spurs.
Perhaps the club feel long term financial barriers and showing we won't be dictated to is the better option than the Woodwood approach.
It looks like we're struggling to identify a target. I watch a lot of football and can't think of many that suit.
We have Fernandinho, Gundogan and Delph all established internationals in the role. De Bruyne whom we & Beligium have used there to good effect. Danilo that is capable and Claudio Gomez is one of the hottest prospects in the World for the role.
Not to mention the most tactically innovative & flexible manager in the World.

Delph and Ferny are well equipped to fill the role. It's not like its the end of the world.

Did it really come down to price in reality?Obviously not mate but there are players available but we don’t seem to want to pay the prices for them? That’s all well and good in theory but we only needed two players this summer and have only actually invested in the one area we weren’t desperate to add to?
I disagree about investing where we did not being necessary.
Why do so many City fans always say:
"its not the end of the world"
"we have cover"
"we have ferna and gundogan, we will be fine"
We are all missing the point. We lost Yaya this summer and prior this season we had Yaya and Ferna as our main pivot roles with Yaya primarily backing it up. Thankfully Ferna had an absolutely amazing season last year. But at the age he is at you just cant expect the player to be the same every year, the same goes for David Silva. Players like KDB your going to expect the same player due to being in the prime of their careers. Players like Sane you'd want them to improve or give more output. But players like Ferna at their age can literally fall off a cliff from 1 season to the next in terms of performance and fitness. We seen it happen with Yaya 1 season he bangs in 20 goals and 2 years later he is struggling to run up and down the pitch. If Ferna produces 90% of what he gave us last season I think we should win the league. But thats a huge risk to put on your title challenge, CL challenge and Cup challenges. If Ferna gets injured we DO NOT have the adequate required cover expected to do the same job game in and game out.
The club themselves realised how important it is getting this replacement in Fred and then in Jorginho. We need this type of player, I honestly think we are taking a huge risk going into the season without a clear future option. The issue for me is if Fernandinho DOES fall off a cliff it doesn't just impact THIS season it impacts NEXT as well because you then need to buy a player who every club out there will know you are desperate for so 1) the price goes up and 2) You need the player to be an 100% impact straight away the next year because Ferna did drop off the "cliff".
In saying all that I really hope Ferna has a fucken killer season and we smash 100 points again and go on to win it with flying colors and sort this crap out in January or the next window. Lets hope.

Have read that twice and still cannot see the point you are telling us everyone has missed. You have stated a lot of obvious things that most on here I believe are fully aware of.
