Who should be the next leader of the Tory party?

Another fuckwit only interested in himself then. Good to know.
To be fair to him, he actually has an interesting story and a rich background. He’s been a fairly prominent parliamentarian and introduced a number of bills in his time, but he’s another one who has a wealth of experience in religious and foreign affairs (especially in connection with Pakistan) but precious little experience in domestic affairs and hasn’t run a department.

I’m starting to think that people are deliberately putting themselves forward simply to expand the field further and thereby undermine someone.

What's the point in someone like him even throwing his hat in the ring?
Surely, to be considered for the top job you would need to have held another senior position.

If a CEO of a business resigned and they were goixng to replace them internally, it would be the COO or CFO not Dave from the shop floor.
Unless the last boss had sacked the board and employed a load of his clueless mates to run the company.

Technically, Ian Duncan Smith became leader of the Conservative Party without having held a ministerial position; he was a backbencher under Major. You’re quite correct, however, in that it would be highly irregular for someone with no ministerial experience to be elevated to prime minister. It shows the desire to make a clean break from Johnson’s government, I suppose, and that is leading some to conclude that they might just have a chance even if it is remote.

Nice to see Liz Truss entering something.

It's usually dicks entering her sweaty, baggy minge.

She’s smart. She was out of the country most of last week and hasn’t been tainted with what went on in terms of the resignations. She has even deliberately held off announcing her candidacy til now so as not to look too eager (compare Javid). The vast majority of members are old, white, and living in the Home Counties, the kind who probably pray nightly for the reincarnation of Margaret Thatcher, so if Truss makes the final two, it’s hard not to see her winning.

Whoever is appointed PM should have to live for 6 months on minimum wage in a flat in Newhall Green.
That'd separate the wheat from the chaf.

These multi millionaires have got absolutely zero idea what normal people want from a government.

Most people just want to reduce homelessness and the use of food banks ffs!

Would you at least provide a redecoration and refurbishment allowance?…

Ha!! I'd give them a couple of tins of Dulux Emulsion and some brushes.
Seems fair.
They can do it themselves like we bloody have to!

Should be thankful they're not getting B&Qs own brand, that watery shite would turn anyone to tears.
