Who wants Liverpool to fail soooo badly....

Doesn't bother me either way personally. I fully expect Benitez will have either jumped before pushed or been pushed anyway before the end of the season as he's not performing to 'Liverpool standards'. Their ambition should be to win the league and yet they are 8 points off the leaders who, like it or not, are experienced in keeping hold of leads in terms of points. It is questionable whether they'll be able to creep back into a top four place this season. It's early days but the signs aren't looking good.

To me I read it as this being the best opportunity to date for either ourselves, Tottenham or Aston Villa to smash the top four 'clique' and the way things are going it could simply become a top six rather than a top five if us and spurs maintain form.

The main worry for me is will our players come down with 'food posioning' the night before our big top 4 game??

With City's biggest fan behind them they're sure to raise their game with his support ;-)

When you look at that list and add up the money spent on players you have not ever seen play for Liverpool. let alone signing on fees and wages, he cant say he hasnt been backed. He has just bought alot of crap and lucky he inherited gerrad and carragar

Part of me actually wants the rags to smash them. The loss would be more damaging for them than it would the rags. It's more fun to watch a team you hate spiralling into chaos than it is to watch a team you hate a little bit more lose one match and then go back to having a steady if unspectacular season. Either way though it's win-win lol.

A bad enough result on sunday though and Rafa is gone.

I would have thought the constant sniping at City from a number of Everton fans in recent months would have backed up my statement.

Everton fans believe they are the only ones with a fine history, devine right to investment.

First visited Goodison with my Dad as a kid back in 87, Littlewood Cup QF - we lost, naturally.

But have always found Everton fans more overly-aggressive than any other team, barring Millwall.

And, yes, you did have a great team in 85/86, which would have been good enough to have had a proper tilt at European Cup.

I don't like Everton, probably because they remind me most of ourselves at one stage or another. The siege mentality, living in the shadow of a neighbour, being skint, shit stadium.

It's the reason why Brits don't get on with the Germans and French. We don't admit, that we see a little bit of ourselves in others.

The seemingly majority of Evertonians seem to begrudge us our moment in the sun, despite the fact our history is just as long and prouds our yours.

I disagree with that to an extent, there is obviously going to be some jealousy though but the sniping works both ways.

It's all that self-righteous stuff about Everton doing things 'the right way'

an evertonian wished us well and when i mentioned lescott,he just shrugged his shoulders and said"we got a good price in the end" much the same as we did with shaunie.
its nice and refreshing to see liverpool struggle and i want it to be made offical when we beat them.

Not long till the first Derby at Goodison now and for the first time in a while I'm quite Optimistic.

That was more the Manager than the fans and to be fair your manager did imply that we were a small club so I think that makes it fairly even.
