Who Will Pose A Threat Next Season

I don’t think they will challenge us but they’ll be up there. I could see them winning something like the FA cup.

If we stay motivated I can see City winning the league by 10 points or so. It won’t be a complete domination but it won’t be a battle until the last day either.

Chelsea-Sarri doesn’t rotate at all and they will be playing Europa league. Will need at least one season to go from bus parking to possession based. Don’t know what his first choice midfield will be as Kante and Jorginho play more of less the same position and both are ineffective playing further up the pitch.

Arsenal-bought some quality but still lack leaders on the pitch. Their attack is dangerous but they’ll be fighting for top 4 and not the title.

Spurs-haven’t bought anyone. Will be missing Son for about a month if I’m not mistaken. New stadium, will be a top 4 fight for them.

Rags- the meltdown has already started in pre-season. Many players unhappy. No significant improvements in the squad. Fullbacks in their mid thirties. They over achieved last season, I could see them miss out on top 4.

Liverpool- Alisson, Naby and Fabinho all from different leagues, how will they adapt? Especially Alisson, had a lackluster World Cup, most expensive keeper of all time by far, can he handle the pressure? Will Salah repeat his heroics? They need one more season to challenge for the league. Can see them winning a cup.
Good summary would just add that although Chelsea won't rotate they'll have an almost second 11 playing in Europe so the main players will get more gaps in game time.

If Chelsea keep hazard and Kante they will be the biggest threat for me got some great attacking options that will play in an attacking set up this season.

If they gel together, they have the best players, after us. Morata is probably the biggest potential spanner in the works, as he was so utterly shite last season.

But if it wasn't for Mourinho's need for a meltdown, the rags have proven that they can scrawp together 80+ points, which was well ahead of Liverpool & they 'should' be stronger this season, if the manager actually does his job.

Also, although the scousers are wanking themselves into a coma due to beating them & us, pre season, we outplayed them for long periods with a reserve team & the rags had no trouble at all first half v Salah etc. Again the refereee was Liverpool's game changer.

Mourinho will think he can take minimum two possibly six points off them, by bus parking.

You’re probably right. I’m interested to see how Sarri will approach the Europa league and both cups. With Napoli they had one domestic cup, the league and CL. He’s a manager that at Napoli had a first eleven and played the same team virtually every game. Running his front 3 of Mertens, Callejon, and Insigne into the ground. Explains why they finished the season with no gas at all left in the tank and also crumbled under pressure in the title race.

Sarri has never won a trophy so I’m not sure he will fully rotate for the cups and EL as they could anyway miss out on top 4 and he would probably get the sack. This is the first time he will be in 4 competitions, and will have to deal with the intense winter period.

He is a top manager but needs time, his Napoli almost broke Juve’s dominance but this was only after being in charge for a number of years. Yes at Chelsea he will have greater funds but also greater expectations. I’m not sure Roman will give him the time he needs to be successful.

Liverpool will be the only legitimate challenger to City for the Premiership but they will not prevent back to back titles

Hardly panic buying is it? Pretty sure one of the German teams (Bayern?) twatted Benfica about 5-0 in 16/17 CL, yet we went and bought Ederson for a then record fee who, for me, is the best keeper in the league. Never heard of him before we bought him though. They’ve addressed a huge problem, like we did, and have thrown money at it, like we did. I think Ederson is better but the fact is Allison is Brazil’s number one, so there’s an added premium immediately. Add to that Keita, the fact they’ve kept Salah, Firmino gets better each season, Lallana coming back, they’re going to push us all the way. The difference is if Salah gets injured, that alone will upset them more than it would say if Aguero got injured for us, as we have goals all over the park.
Going to be an interesting season.
Aquero will get injured just depends how often if he bags his usual 20-25 league goals we will win it. As for Salah we need to get stuck into him a bit more ala Ramos.

Hopefully no-one. The team playing the best football the best way will defend its title.

Can see them getting to a Cup Final and flaming out again

Im worried about the world cup hangover for some of the main men, mainly KDB who was obviously out there the full tournement. Tricky first game away to arsenal who will be up for it (you'd think) under the new gaffer.

My main worry for the season is aguero getting a long term injury and not having a main man up front, Jesus is class but still raw.

cheers
Why would sergio get a long term injury? he has had his knee repaired and says it feels better than it has for 5yrs,in the last 2 seasons he has broke a rib and had a kick on his foot, unless i have forotten something he is not the old injury prone serg of old,we can manage fine without anyone barr kev and even then mahrez is an able deputy

Yea but i dont think theyll drop as mamy stupid points as they usually do their squad is far better than last year
All except one new to the country and klopp is not very flexible,we have better players who have become centurians together, they are tight and well drilled,i find the hysteria about the dippers amusing
