whoever scouted Boateng

Horrible thread this.
Some usually excellent posters on both sides of the debate have acquitted themselves poorly.

My view is that Bob has improved every defender who was here when he took over and will I'm sure improve these two. Maybe their appearances will be selected carefully for the time being but I'm still hopeful that both of these players will be an asset to us in time.

i think this is correct, we use them as and when we feel able to, once they have found their feet in the prem we play them.

Doesn't make anyone a laughing stock, or require the use of melodramatic language.

Ok, lets go through it.

Whoever scouted Boateng should be embarrassed. Melodramatic and no reason whatsoever to have any truth in the statement.

I will try to keep this courteous. More melodrama, and no video.

A lack of awareness.
A lack of alertness.
A lack of urgency.
A lack of agressiveness.
Well, we will leave that to the professionals. I am sure the fellas that pick him
must think he has attributes.

For a self-confessed supposed centre-half, yet to see him head a ball.
Probably bollocks, but i cannot prove it

He was bought as first-choice right back.
He may have the ITK advantage over me there, cannot say either way. Although as the guy can play anywhere across the back, it would have been logical to use that as an advantage when buying him.

He has no first touch and even his facial expressions are non-plussed, too cool for school.
Has no first touch? Really? Ok, Jerome needs to work on his facials expressions. Guess we need a facial expression coach, just to make sure the lads look interested.

He is passive, continually gets underneath the ball and whatever his apologists may say at this present time about fitness and getting used to the English game, fails to show even the basic of fundamentals.
Lack of basic fundamentals?? Even you have to smirk at that.

We have bought a dud. I don't need to see anymore. Everyone of my own observations leads me this conclusion and he would be a disaster at centre half.
Clearly not seen many matches, where Boateng has been outstanding at centre half.

It figures how he first got injured being hit by an air stewardesses drinks trolley...never saw it coming.
Wrong, about as accurate as a Mirror report.

Apart from the above, he is a world class £10m defender.
Yep, after a year at the club, he will be a world class defender and a snip at £10M. After all the last two players we have bought from Hamburg slotted in straight away and where would we be without them now?

That's better, Ken, you've argued your point.

I have to say I agree with Tolmie rather than you, but fair play.

I think this lad should be forgotten at right back and cultivated as a pure centre half. He actually did a remarkably skilled job in finding a Leicester player every single time he released the ball. i don't think I could do that if I tried.

There's still some hope, though

I think he has done really well when ever I have seen him play. He seem to be strong, quick and very good one on one defending

I will await your review of your initial misdiagnosis.

double edged sword, don't play them regularly and like Santa Cruz they never get used to it and properly fit and they become a waste.

Do play them and you have to accept they will be inconsistent.
Can't really compare them to the RSC situation. He's a seasoned pro who had ample time to adjust to the PL but he's not been rated highly enough by Mancini to persevere with.
AK and JB will be given every assistance to do the job for which he chose them.
OPN down the road is a past master at moving players in and out of the lineup if necessary to get them to play at the peak of their ability. He's currently working on Evans, Smalling and the da Silva twins to be the next generation of the Rags defence and is rotating them in and out and eventually he will know who will make the grade and who will need to be moved on.
Not sure myself whether our two guys have what it takes to perform at the highest level consistently but we need longer than this to evaluate them.
As Boateng said himself a full pre-season followed by a decent run of games should help him reach a point where we can evaluate what to do with him.

Just give him a few. He's busy patronizing the southern hemisphere at the mo. He's then got a meet with God to set Him right on a few things, before he gets back to his usual trick of insulting anyone in the most degrading manner, whilst upbraiding all and sundry for the very behaviour he practices himself.

His ramora clique are in his image.
