whoever scouted Boateng

I don't know what Boateng did so badly the other day!? I didn't have the best view at the game so I might have missed something but I watched the highlights on motd last night and I'm still puzzled. Two things of note were him winning the ball for the corner that tevez scored from and him bursting down the line and playing a great ball in to Johnno who should have scored but missed a sitter with his slide? Boateng wasn't winning so many headers because he was jumping up with their man, dummying it and let it go out for our throw ins

Alright he hasn't been playing blinders yet but what do you expect form a young lad in a new country? I'd be inclined to agree with his lack of aggressiveness and alertness but I remember seeing him play for Hamburg and he was a much more imposing figure. Way too early to write this kid off yet

Should be embarrassed.

I will try to keep this courteous.

A lack of awareness.

A lack of alertness.

A lack of urgency.

A lack of agressiveness.

For a self-confessed supposed centre-half, yet to see him head a ball.

He was bought as first-choice right back.

He has no first touch and even his facial expressions are non-plussed, too cool for school.

He is passive, continually gets underneath the ball and whatever his apologists may say at this present time about fitness and getting used to the English game, fails to show even the basic of fundamentals.

We have bought a dud. I don't need to see anymore. Everyone of my own observations leads me this conclusion and he would be a disaster at centre half.

It figures how he first got injured being hit by an air stewardesses drinks trolley...never saw it coming.

Apart from the above, he is a world class £10m defender.
are you being serious or is this one of your bullshit cryptic clues?........the lad is 22 playing football in a new league in a new country and is a current german international and you, after half a dozen or so games, put a thread up like this!!!! fuck me this forum is getting more and more laughable by the day......shit on a forum like this makes me fuckin embarrassed to think i'm associated with the same club it really does.

I've just watched the game for the first time on TV as you never get the best views in the away end and i thought Boateng had a really good game on Sunday. He hasn't been the best so far this season but i thought that was his best game for us on Sunday.

What?

Watch his distribution. He gives the ball away every time he has it.

He loses a man in the box for a setpiece too, and that's a schoolboy error.

It was shocking how often he lost his man, once you could forgive but it was every time.

He will never be liked by City fans, he plays right back, every one we have ever had has been labelled shit.

1. Not true.
2. It happens.

AK Book was ok.

true about his marking on sunday, but he did get a few things right on the night as well. the reaction to his performance is miles OTT.

as for the passing, he loses it carelessly at times, but you have to accept that he is showing some ambition. he will look to make big passes most of the time. it's in stark contrast to Micah, who to my eyes appears (at times) almost afraid to contribute in attack.

i've chosen two recent games that we won to illustrate the point.

richards vs villa

boateng vs newcastle.

unlike any other fullbacks we've had in recent times, boateng and kolarov both manage to play crosses into the box time after time, match after match. kolarov in particular has delivered some great low passes. boateng is struggling for accuracy, but he gets my vote for at least getting there and looking to create.
