From selfish point of view a Aussie world cup would be nightmare with the time zone and times of the matches to watch in the uk unless the average man in the street took about a month off work
It would be similar to Japan/South Korea in the pub for 7am pissed at 10am, happy days.
For those of us who had a degree of control about the hours we worked, that truly was a great World Cup for drinking.

It'd be nice for us Aussies who wake up/stay up to 2am for City games, 4:30am for midweek games.

That was a brilliant World Cup, as you said if you had control of your work schedule. Matches started at midnight/0100 over here, with the last match kicking off at 0600/0700. Flipped my schedule completely around and became a vampire for that month.

Games at Gunnersbury Park, Ealing Common , possibly a Boston manor group , final at Griffin Park it would work a treat !

You might want to reconsider Griffin Park, mate!

If you had the matches kickin' off at say 7am then that would be fine. We could all support an Oz bid!

Has there be a criminal investigation into the goings on at FIFA?

Surely there needs to be, and people actually charged

Unfortunately it's FIFA and not UEFA
Platini is heavily implicated in the Qatar bid. It won't be long before his name is in the frame.

He has played a very dangerous game, even though the sanctions imposed are pretty meaningless there is a certain humiliation factor involved, if there is dirt on him it will come out all I can say is what an idiot, although I have always felt he has played patsy to vested interests of the cartel, as I doubt he is clever and astute enough to carry this out by himself
Course he isn't. He's just the front man of UEFA. A really great player in his time, French speaking, needed a job, was probably intelligent enough AND stupid enough (and brave enough) to do the role UEFA wanted him for. But I really doubt he's behind anything that comes out of UEFA. He's just the face. The one who is prepared to take the flack, if he even knows that's why he's in the job he's in.

Have you ever noticed when confronted about FFPR, he's very closed and doesn't seem to divulge a great deal? I think that's because he doesn't know it all in total depth so has been told to be guarded about it by the men really behind it all.

There are some very shady people working behind the scenes on all UEFA's doings. Whether they are lawyers or bankers telling UEFA (and FIFA) what to do or UEFA (or FIFA) officials themselves, they are well dodgy. I don't think Platini is anywhere near astute enough to be behind anything so big.

I'm not saying he isn't getting brown envelopes from guys in long coats on a park bench (no, I don't mean tramps giving him a sip of whiskey!), it may well turn out that Platini is getting fortunes in dodgy Swiss bank accounts. But he's just the front man, he's not the root of the problem.

Well with Sir Baconface, Gill and Woodywoodpecker thats three shady bastards for a start in my books.

Re: Whos Not playing by the rules now Mr Platini??????

I hope they do move it as I'd already vowed to not watch it if it was held in Qatar at winter time. Admittedly one man not watching wont make much difference to UEFA but there's not alot else your average football fan can do.
