Question to the OP

When you say African, do you mean

Born in Africa or
African descent or
Brought up in Africa or
Black African or
White African or
1st Generation African or
African American or
Afro - Caribean or
.....etc, etc ad infinitum??????

When you define African, then maybe we can have a debate?

hallefuckinglujah

A player who learned to play football in Africa. This is most likely to be a Black African who was not coached in Europe.

Yes but his parents are Algerian, therefore he is African, no European player has came close to his level.

So a black is born in Britain he's not British? He was born and brought up in France he is French. Don't even bother giving me the BNP argument of 'if a dog is born in a stable it's still a dog'
Well put.

It's unlikely that Sessegnon is world class because he plays in Ligue 1.

Come on.. lol.
Ronaldinho played for the same club.......
Barca should have stayed clear of him, why?

it's unlikely he is world class because he plays in a bad league.

Essien should Chelsea have bought him.. nope.

it's unlikely he is world class because he plays in a bad league.

Most of the stars of the French National team, Zidane, Henry, Vieira, Makelele etc.. etc...

it's unlikely he is world class because he plays in a bad league.

Yaya Toure anyone

it's unlikely he is world class because he plays in a bad league.

Some of the most gifted English players... Hoddle, Waddle... They were so technically gifted, they went to play in a bad league.

Have you watched Ligue 1????
There's no wonder that there is always big clubs coming and spalshing out over £20 Million every season for the last 6 or so years for a player in that league, from Benzema, Yaya Toure, Ribery, Essien, Drogba...

There are soo many great talents in that League right now, you'd wish you would have spent your money on them, the likes of Hazard and Sessegnon, Ederson, Pjanic, Gervinho, Ben Arfa etc..

So what your really saying then is that the coaching is not as good in the developing nations of Africa than in Europe.

Hardly contraversial if you put it that way....

Ronaldinho, Essien, Malouda, Benzema, Ribery, Drogaba, even Ben Arfa have had massive exposure in England before they were signed. My argument is that Sessegnon has not, that is why i am sceptical.

You have just answered your own question.

Because they are poor Countries without clubs recruiting youngsters at 9,10,11. so the kids are not getting good training at an early age hence why they are not a technically gifted(there will be exceptions natural talent and all that).

Surely that it is pretty obvious that kids growing up in slums or rural Africa are not going to have the same opportunities to kids in western Europe.

Well that could be one of the reasons, yes.

If that is the reason, then why are FIFA not spening uge amounts of money to correct that.

I mentioned this on about page 4. Yet everyone was still intent on calling me racist instead of arguing this point or offering other reasons.

There are millions of people staving to death/suffering from aids/malaria pumping millions of pounds in to footbal isn't going to go down too well is! It would be better spent in wiping out malaria or educating about aids.
