Why are you a City fan?

Jumped on the band wagon in 68 with the help of my dad and brother not looked back.
First away Leeds in the charity shed 69/70 got beat 1-0.
Even with our recent success loved every minuet.

Because I was ABU. Seriously. As soon as we got a chance to watch Premier League on TV regularly I started to fucking hate that bunch. I just wanted anyone to beat them. Then few years later City success came to the scene and I started to want City to win it as it would probably hurt the bastards even more. But with time, I got real affection and it's now City first, then hating United second.

my 11 year old son has introduced me to city and made me a fan.

im a 49 year old glasgow rangers fan, who has followed rangers for the past 40 years, gave up my season ticket last season and my son has been itching for me to take him to etihad ever since, so we went on stadium tour last friday and attended match on stauday.

we will be back

first game,Blackpool 1971 aged 5, me & a mate started going regularly in 81 and when we got back to my mates house we'd have banter with his younger brother who supported Liverpool, had the mug, scarf, everything. We eventually got him to a game and when I popped round the week after the lad had a city mug, scarf, etc, fell in love with the club overnight and both him and his son are season ticket/big blues now

Born and raised in Gorse Hill, a stone's throw from the swam. But in 1955 my dad took me to Maine Road and that was that. City first and foremost for me.
My wife, born in Oldham, started supporting City just to be different as her dad was a red.
Both our children had no option - they had to be blue, especially as both were named after City players/managers.

What were the reasons that you hated them?

It was God's purpose, so as to ensure that, through experience, I would develop a deep but broad understanding and appreciation of life's many vagaries, and in so doing enable me to provide effective counsel and support to others who, through no fault of their own, have been less fortunate when making life choices.
BRILLIANT!!!

Befriended someone in college who was a Manc and got interested in City that way. One day I was watching a match on Fox Sports and City fans were throwing things on the pitch (even some kits) at lackluster players. The idea that the supporters were angry about the effort was a revelation. A light went off in my brain about fan pride and what supporting this club means. I now wear the club badge on my coat every day.
