another european day out drinking foreign beer in the sun, who cares for
what reason we're going !
as several others have said, keep fitness levels up, and the more games the better they will get in understanding each other on and off the field ( no golf please ! ) and it raises profile of club too.
so all the talk of signing eto was just a smokescreen for gary cooke to organise a jolly for the fans ?
see you all at the beach party on wednesday, this time last year on the sea front at larnaca.

To be invited to play this match is a MASSIVE honour... this is not a meaningless friendly but the Joan Gamper Trophy. Gamper FOUNDED Barcelona and helped turn them into the club they are today. Under his presidency FC Barcelona won eleven Championat de Catalunya, six Copa del Rey and four Coupe de Pyrenées.

Traditionally this is THE curtain raiser for Barcelona and is when the new team is unveiled to the fans. That City have been chosen speaks volumes for our newfound status and really puts us on the global map.

So quit being a mard arse and just enjoy it... should be a cracking game.

...that's only after they've done enough risk assessments to make sure it's risky enough for me to go. They'll only organise trips abroad providing there are at least 20 ways of me getting stranded, hospitalised, losing passports, losing items, or any other reason that involves me checking the small print on my travel insurance.

Any less than 20 and they don't consider it worth their while.

The arrival of worlds richest club , plus the debut of Ibrahimovich , has sold plenty of tickets.

Ibrahimovic's debut is generating a lot of interest in Catalunya as the world's richest club, Manchester City, make their first trip to Camp Nou. Marca reports that 70,000 tickets have already been sold for Wednesday night's game and a near-capacity crowd is expected.

we should just be honoured to be playing this game. only the worlds finest get invited to barca's tea party so we shouldnt even think about refusing. end of the day both managers will want no injuries so it will be nice + easy
