In hindsight, left us chasing our tail looking a lb oh and the other lb was banged up.

Either way it hasn’t worked. We have good players who can step into that role but it is an area of weakness. Shame he wanted to leave really, same with Jesus. To play the football we do you need a certain type of player and we lost 2.

He isn’t a world class midfielder, he’s a world class inverted fullback. Players don’t have to stick to the position they decided to play in as a kid. Coaches can spot how their attributes have been mis-profiled, they can see how they can be used in other positions. Also, the game evolves, tactics evolve and different positions become more important. You aren’t born and assigned a fixed football position for life.

Ukrainian coach doesn’t see him as a LB that’s for sure

Vinny came to us as a midfielder, Fern had been played further forward, and Lee Bradbury was a goalscorer. Things change.
