Why did we let Zinchenko go?

Now why let him go ? while last season many were asking for a LB since they don't consider Zinchenko as " real" LB.

What is any full-back, left or right, I've not seen any for years, not seen a decent tackler, one with any defensive nous. People talk about Cucaracha, has anyone seen him put a decent tackle in, I haven't. I wouldn’t even call them attacking half backs, it's a strange job, but one I thought Zinchenko was brilliant at.

Well his valuation is going down, so maybe we should have let him go, what happened to if a player doesn't want to be at the club then there is the door? Or are we if a player doesn't want to be at the club keep them against their will until we get the price we want?

It wasnt hard to play left back when we had the ball and were on the offensive for most of the game. Manys a goal conceded at the back post whilst Zinch was stargazing. Not the only one guilty of that in fairness.

He’s an inverted full back. It’s extremely low on the list of things an inverted full back needs to do.

Zinchenko was decent but no more than that. He had no pace and we frequently got caught out on that side.

I'm sure people think he's got better now he's not playing for us.

Our problem is that Sergio Gomez doesn't look good enough and Cancelo is probably the most hot/cold player I've seen as well as being completely unable to defend.

Once we find a competent left back we will stop talking about him.

The problem isn’t the loss of Zinchenko on its own. When he left, Cancelo had zero competition and that affected him because he has once again become complacent and been utterly shit this season, so much so that Pep has had to play a CB there, one who offers no threat going forward at all and has also had to play a CB at right back a few times! Our signings were crap overall and that is what is killing us this season together with injuries. We got rid of 3 players who were decent rather than great and another retired. To replace them We have made one good signing, one with promise and 3 shit to average ones for me.

No, let's have it right, he was a midfielder playing out of position at left back in the games where the opposition didn't attack much - if he'd have been World class he had got into our team in mid field his natural position.
