There is a greggs factory now and openshaw tech still going, but yeah both have changed a lot, Belle Vue when I was a kid was buzzing not the desolate area it is now, though the chorlton creep that is trying to more gentrify Leve is heading towards mount rd apparently and is expected to be the next area that some coucil bods want to rejuvinate.

I went to Openshaw Tech and Ive always wondered, who funds it ?

I’m going to take a long look around the place when I get back.
Born in Higher Openshaw, went to school in Gorton and got my first proper job on Mount Road.

Me too ... 1976-78. One year full time and two day release ... paid to do it as an apprentice. Happy daze for sure.
