Why didn't you go to the Leipzig game?

I rarely go to any cup games. Cost is the main factor usually.
This season it is the faffing with etickets too. Add to it usual car park now closed, and alternatives are thin on the ground. Public transport to get home is shite. Once get into town, its one train an hour home, then a taxi or 45min walk.
All in all, cba.

Away on holiday…..but I doubt I would have made it anyhow…
last 3 journeys up the M5 & M6 have been over 5 hours;
with night time roadworks on the way south I could be looking at 10 hours driving.

Was working 6am til 6pm, hour drive to the stadium, find somewhere to park, walk to the stadium from wherever I parked, queue up outside M1 for ages to get in,probably miss kick off with the way they handle the queues these days, watch Pep play a winger upfront, get home about 11.30pm if I’m lucky, up for work at 5am in the morning for work…….

Watched it on tv instead, fuck you Pep

Live 250 miles away so not able to justify the cost or the time off work to attend.

Furthermore I have zero chance of a ticket, through the club, if we reach the final so little interest in attending all the matches, buying into the competition, but then no chance of seeing the final.

Will go to the matches I want to attend and want to watch.

Still love the badge, and always will, but some parts of the club I have little affection for. This hierarchy were prepared to drag the club into the ESL with the only explanation being a statement by the United CEO on our website. We have had fans moved out of the Nth stand, level 2, seats, seats replaced by bigger advertising screens, buying of loyalty points (platinum) plus consistently poor communication with the fanbase, including terrible customer service. There seems to be a disconnect to me between the club and fans and its a shame as if the two were galvanised it could make a huge difference.

Choosing to take that seriously for a second… apparently Gates is not that much of a computer wiz (somebody who really does know IT and software told me that, and I trust them on it), but he's an exceptional assembler and organiser of teams that do include real computer wizzes.

Back to the issue in hand. For myself, I'd love to have been at the Leipzig game, but although I've held a season card for several years I don't live in the U.K. Like a nutcase, I've chosen to go back to working on Wednesday mornings, despite being retired, and it would be very, very tight indeed for me to get to the Etihad (from France) for that evening.
I would do it if I lived in greater Manchester, because if there's one thing I've made up my mind about during the Covid/lockdown period – or rather, I've had my mind made up for me – it is that watching matches on a screen at home absolutely does not do it for me (and there's no local bar/pub that was showing the match). Hope to be over soon to see my blues, but as long as your government imposes the little matter of a PCR test both before and after arriving on your shores (at a cool £80 or so a throw), even to those who've had the double jab (I have), well, I think I'll have to pass on it.
As for those who go or don't go, and whether the stadium is full — we absolutely should not allow ourselves to be bothered by this. We're just pleasing our enemies by showing that we're bothered. Fuck em.

Love how you live in France and just bob over to watch God's Own mate.

That's suaver than Sean Connery in a smoking jacket and monocle.

I have two kids under 3 a wife that works for the NHS. Sadly these days, it’s Saturdays or nowt for me. I’ve had a season ticket for 20+ years on and off since the late 80’s.

There was 11 of us with season tickets when we moved to Etihad. Only three of us go regularly now. One works there…

or the ticket office got it wrong and it was 48,062 rather than 38,062.
As they have done before…
A couple of seasons ago, first home game of the season v Everton. They advised the Press Agency the attendance was 48k, but anybody who was there knew it was wrong. They forgot the corporate attendees. The same arguments arose then… until the official attendance was updated to 54k a few months later.
