Why does no one claim to care about Manchester City?

Agree, I’m 62, Catholic, Newton Heath lad of Irish descent. My dad supported City, he was born on Clough St, Newton Heath in 1927. City have always had mixed support of varying creeds. Catholics, Protestants, Jews historically. City in my experience have never been exposed to sectarianism

I would agree with this but I have one stand out memory of a group of Rangers being in Mary Ds around 2006-2007 and the shouty DJ played God Save the Queen. I would almost be willing to say that this was a fever dream or induced by alcohol or drugs one night, but it definitely happened as I clearly remember my Dad and I looking at each other wondering what the fuck was going on. I'm not saying there is a solid link but I've not seen that for anyone else in our pubs, admittedly I've never seen any other fans welcomed in Mary Ds like that either.
 
Quick look at Squawk and Ragcafe tells me that they care , and by that I mean really bloody care.

My first ever football top, did a tour of the Umbro factory with my primary school and they gave us a Wolves or United top at the end. All the City fans in the class picked the old gold.

Always remember the Celtic/ Rangers chant in the kippax early 80’s was always about 50/50 unlike the Tiswas/ Swap Shop one which was quite rightly pro Tiswas!

Those gold Umbro shirts of the 70s were the stuff of beauty, many Wolves fans would love us to have Umbro again as it is what we grew up with
