Why is there not a statue of Yaya?

I think is some had their way, the etihad would have shit loads of statues out side. The three that are there are there because they are symbolic in what the club has achieved in this era. I personally don’t think there should be a KDB one, but that’s just my opinion. Kompany, Silva and Aguero dragged the club to where it is and their legacies are rightfully there in form of statues.

Only goal in the FA Cup semi final v United 2011.

Only goal in the FA Cup final, our first trophy for 35 years in 2011.

The scorer of the only goals in the vital win at Newcastle to give us a chance to win the league the following week.

Got us back in the game with a worldly in the 2014 League Cup Final when we were going no where.

His one man team season in 2013/14 that won us the league.

You can criticise him for his off the pitch stuff but he did more on the pitch than Silva, Aguero and Kompany.

He was the definition of dragging his team through.

Was behind the goal when he scored those 2 goals at Newcastle - the 1st was a great finish

There are videos around showing all the goals from individual players for a club. If you see the one of Yaya for CITY - almost every goal is outstanding.

Did so much for the club in terms of success, however...........

That bollocks with his agent was disgraceful and he should have stopped it

He didn't - so I'm in the no statue camp

Kolo deserved a statue.

This would have looked great, Kolo cast in bronze, with a genuine shower curtain, and shower, outside the Colin Bell stand.

Yaya scored one of the best solo goals ever at the Etihad.

And his chant was one of the best chants ever.

One of the best goals I have ever seen, what a fantastic player he was, just think about it, Yaya Toure playing for City, wow!

It does amaze me how one of our greatest ever players divides our opinions so much.

I met Yaya outside the Etihad one day with two female friends and he was a gentleman, took time with the kids for photos and was really humble and kind.

For me he is one of the greatest players i have ever seen, a truly magical footballer and he deserves far more respect from us Blues than he gets, because he is a legend.

Without doubt one of our best ever players, I think people or supporters have a fixed time of 10 years or more as a reason, like the old testimonials you had to have done the time .? I personally loved watching him, he was so natural and effortless with his passing and his touch on the ball he gave the impression he wasn't bothered at times, but put the right players around him and he could have been here longer. Imo. Off the field I couldn't give a shit what he was like. :-)

I especially liked that we won the league that season scoring only 20 goals and fielding Yaya against 11 men.

Come on ffs.

If we have to have statues would like to see one of Andy Morrison and the Goat. Those two men picked City up off the floor and made possible the club we are today. Never forget where we have come from.

Now list all the times he watched and pointed as midfielders charged past him while he couldn't be arsed to press.

I said at the time that Yaya and Dzeko would become the most rose tinted glasses players in City's history. Seems I was wrong about Dzeko who seems fairly rated but Yaya has become this.

Probably has the best highlight video of them all. Doesn't excuse his unacceptable laziness on the pitch though, especially for a midfielder who could have been as physically dominant as he wanted to, if he made an effort.

Oh and he doesn't have a statue because he called the clubs greatest ever manager a racist and blackmailed the club for a new deal every single season that he was a key player here, even intimating one season that he'd leave for united which people seem to have forgotten

For what he meant to the club all you'd have to do is listen to Vinny's speech at the Yaya farewell presentation. But as has been pointed out many times in this thread already, his legacy became tarnished with the other antics (mostly centered around that prick of an agent he had).

We can't excuse Yaya for being a prick because he could have shut his **** of an agent up any time he wanted to.

Great played but massive knob head who killed his own chance of being immortalised outside the stadium.

Statues...? Waste of time and money.

Memories are more important.

Yaya Toure is still the King. The best player I've seen in a City shirt in my 70 years.

I don't give a shit if he had four great seasons or four great matches for City, Yaya was simply the greatest player we've ever had. A fucking colossus, a monster of a player.

The only players of the modern era that come close to Yaya Toure are Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez.

All you wet bastards whinging over the cake and 'racist' issues need to get a life. Appreciate true greatness. Yaya is the King.
