Why we will win the league!

I think the reality of a Liverpool quadruple is huge, they have a confident, deep, functioning squad and a fanbase with belief, not to mention their media friends willing it on.

I feel sick at the prospect and I hope to god they can be stopped but for me the moment Pep started tinkering with Raheem Sterling as a starter we lost all control of our football matches, I am not saying it's entirely on Raz, of course not but for me we no longer controlled the ball, our games became ping pong football and I could see our players start to doubt their positioning and roles within the team.

Raz doesn't hold the ball well and the turnovers became so common, add to that the fact Stones and Dias have hardly been paired together and we've had Laporte who struggles with any kind of pace or ball over the top, it's really created the perfect storm for us dropping so many points.

I know my opinion will not be popular with some blues but that's how I see it. I literally gave up on the title during the Raheem starting period, I saw the team drain in belief.

Yes we can recover and we can stop them as we all know we are better than them but Pep has to get back to basics and we need Dias to return ASAP with Foden left, KDB false 9 and Gundogan back with Bernardo in the middle. Will he do it I'm not so sure
Fella chill out! Whatever happens it all starts again in August, and again the following August, and has been doing so for well over 100 years. People who fretted on our title wins of 37 and 68 are almost all dead. You, and I suspect most like you are being brainwashed by the Sky/Media echo chamber that being this year's champions is the most important thing known to man when frankly we can clearly see that in just 2 months time it will be nothing more than a name of a team on a trophy next to the numbers 2021/22. Who, other than United fans gives a toss about the 99 Treble anymore? Who other than Arsenal fans give a toss about the invincibles? The fact is even the players aren't even that bothered unless it impacts on their egos. In short, what will be will be and it will soon be forgotten just like every other result, trophy or title that's ever gone before.

For me that's rubbish. Easy to highlight the odd game (not saying I dont agree he messed up in certain games) but look at the big games he's won with his in game tactics as you put it.

In our current situation and squad, would you swap pep for any other manager?
Behave

This thread did a great job back in 18/19, but are we going to bump it every time we are in a tight title race (with Liverpool)? Let's not get superstitious.

Trust the team, that's all. By my lights, this team is for the biggest games and is likely to win the game vs Liverpool.

If we don't win the title, then we don't deserve it. But we may win the CL deservedly, so there's that as well.

I still believe but I agree that Liverpool have more clinical/efficient forward players. They're the same as us in that they have zero strikers but with the exception of Mahrez, I just think they're more clinical.

Liverpool have had one game where they haven't scored, we've had four.

I fancy us to beat them at home, but I believe we may struggle at Wolves/West Ham with low blocks.
Wolves and west ham are two massive games we can't afford to drop points,
I can't see us getting maximum points out of those two games

If we do beat Liverpool, there isn't a team who will be good enough to stop our momentum after it.

Wolves will be harder because they don't give much up but West Ham will always present chances.

As will the Dippers.
As Mancini used to say “eeesa football”
Struggling to see where they will drop points.I get the feeling they have the eye on the prizes and are focused, the Rags will be a cruise for them. Goals win games and were struggling right now. Not writing us off completely but I can see Wolves, Newcastle, West Ham and Villa being very difficult fixtures to gain the necessary wins. As for the Dippers we have the class to beat them but vice versa.

Think I am missing something - if someone said you have a nine game season - 2 horse race. You are given a one point head start and the team who you are up against have to come to yours. Amongst the other games you have to play are Brighton, Watford and Newcastle and Villa at home and Burnley and Leeds away. The team you are up against have a Derby, Spurs and United at home and have to go to Southampton and Villa.

I think I would fancy our chances? Reading the papers and on here you would think it is over?

Bring it on.
