Why we will win the league!

I don't subscribe to the theory that getting hammered necessarily means they'll have a big reaction against us. They've lost games under Solskjaer but Sunday was the first time they've been humiliated. Barcelona was acceptable because of the level of opposition but this was against Everton. I think the players will have lost faith in him for the first time which to me makes this the perfect time to play them.

Their tune over on Merseyside is changing ... they had all their hopes on our Spurs/United fixtures but now already having seen us get past Spurs and then the United’s state of affairs at Everton ... this is the kind of gems being spouted now:

“If we end up with 97 points and finish second then we are still winners in my eyes.”

Classic scouse logic that.

It’s like Keown said the other night, they will be worthy champions if they finish second . Quite brilliant

The rags won't be happy having to share their "trophyless champions" title if that happens. Especially when they actually managed to finish on level points.

I can see why everyone is bothered about Rafa rolling over, but Bodgers is the one who worries me. We totally humiliated him in 2014, he will no doubt be out for revenge.
Bodgers is an ego monster, I reckon he'd be fucking furious if Klippety succeeded where he failed.
Besides, he doesn't have the self awareness to be humiliated, he probably thinks he was the true success story of that season.

I see where your coming from but if city win the next 2 our lot should be too good for what ever is put up against them in the last 2 games

I’d like to think so ...but then again I was expecting us to put 4 of 5 past QPR in 2012

I thought he’d still have friends at the club and would be delighted for them ....but point taken on the ego

That’s true but I’d trust this team and management more than that team in 2012

There is no way Rafa can get Newcastle to roll over. A Saturday night at St James'the fans will be tonked up and well up for ruining Liverpool's title challenge. They have the players to hurt Liverpool too. Rafa, like Rodgers will probably prefer Klopp not to succeed where they failed. Rafa is a Liverpool legend for Istanbul, Klopp probably kicks him out of the spotlight if he can bag the league title.

And Rodgers probably doesn't like City but probably will not have any added motivation to beat us just because it would help Liverpool. We will know whether we have to win that game or not and I can imagine Raheem Sterling might fancy scoring a few against Brendan's side.

hmm.. Convenient noo.. Pellegrini does it while bossing Westham because he has some ex city sentiments and Rafa and Rodgers would not do.. I think the fact remains that they came this close, the lads will go all out to win those two games.. City can only derail Liverpool if they do not lose against united and Burnley.. the probability will get less and less unlikely as the games pass by.. so might as well focus on how to win than pinning hopes on where will Liverpool falter..
