'wall was ridiculous. Remember walking in to the Music Cafe next to London Bridge with 4 other lads to be confronted by 30 of Millwalls Nutty Turn Out (apparently there was 200 there 10 mins earlier) baying for blood. Knew one of them from Englad away France 98 and got some sort of VIP escort to the ground by them, confused the police no end.......that was a very lucky let off.

was that the Millwall game that there was a riot after the match .............. when the police kept us in for about 45 minutes and kept telling us they were dealing with a "minor disturbance" down the hill ...... Dennis Tueart came out and said on the police megaphone "you're better off here lads as there's a full scale riot down there" ...... Millwall had attacked the permanent gypsy site near the turning towards the train station.

Yep that's the one (we only had the top tier of the away end.)

It was freezing that night. Some lads had their tops off must have been mental, certainly one of the coldest games ive been to another being sheff utd away a few years back.

Chelsea away on a Monday night. About 200 of us standing in the old north stand. 1st season of Sky (I think). Or 'Boro away a couple of seasons back are the coldest I've ever been. Fucking freezing.

Boro was horrendously cold remember the big announcement that the M62 was open cue all the blues singing 'were all going home' but Copenhagen away in the Europa league absolutely took the biscuit for freezing coldness I think I had about 6 layers on that night as well as hat, scarf, gloves, 3 pairs of socks still felt like I was going to get hypothermia at any point!!!

Yep, good shout, i`d forgotten about Copenhagen ( -5 when we arrived).

-- Tue Nov 15, 2011 4:25 pm --

Remember this well. Didn`t the local police chief say it was the worst outbreak of football violence he`d seen in 30 yrs in the job? ... we`d travelled down in my girlfriend`s mum`s car (fuel consumption was better),& parked up at the
1st side road up from the ground we could find. Realised it was gonna go mental afterwards, then spent about 2 hrs shitting ourselves in case the car got wrecked (not a mark on it when we got back). The car was about a 5 min walk away, you couldn`t put a foot down without treading on broken glass. I`ll also never forget the car WHEEL in the middle of this road either. Luckily we drove out just behind our coaches, so all lights were on green. Ahh the good old days eh?

Northampton away......City end.

Wrexham away stands out for me, either boxing day or New Years Day in the same season, can't really recall, but me and my old man were there. As were 2-3,000 blues.

We were languishing in mid table and promotion wasn't on the cards, we were playing poorly and the signs weren't good.

But, this game we won 1-0 and went unbeaten until the end of the season. And we all know the rest.

The atmosphere that day was immense, despite our lowly league position, and proved to be the turning point in the Clubs recent history - if we would of lost that game, who knows what might have happened.

I am old enough to remember going to watch City in an FA Cup tie in Jan 1946 when the matches were played over 2 legs. We had beaten Bradford (Park Avenue) 3-1 at Bradford and the return leg was surely a formality.
We lost 2-8, even with Big frank in goal. I was traumatised.

Terry Cooke played for Wrexham and played havoc with our defence. As soon as his loan period ended, Royle snapped him up on loan!!

due to my old man living in north wales and me spending chrimbo there, he decided we should go to the racecourse together but left it too late to get tickets for the away end, city had sold out. he went to wrexham's ticket office and tried to buy tickets there for the away end. they obviously told him he couldn't so he says "fuck it then, i'll have 2 for the wrexham end."

the woman in the ticket office says he can't because she knows he's a city fan now. my dad asks to see the manager and produces a document with his prestatyn address on and demands tickets saying he just wants to watch the match. we get them and have to watch wrexham rip us a new arsehole in silence before wiekens pops up with an undeserved winner. class day.
