Absolutely. They were in the Northern Premier League less than 40 years ago, and are surrounded by bigger clubs that have historically had much higher support so why they're coming in for any criticism is beyond me. If anything, they've sold slightly more tickets than I expected because if there's one thing you can say about Wigan's support it's that they don't get tens of thousands of fans coming out of the woodwork in relation to their average crowds when they have a trip to Wembley unlike Gillingham in 1999 against us or Millwall in the same year against Wigan in the Auto Windscreens Final.

On the odd we dont sell out occasions we dont sell out there are people with a range of excuses at the ready - the recession, its televised, the cost of travel etc etc.
25% of Wigans population will be at the game - they deserve congratulating not berating. They would have sold all their allocation if the game was at Villa Park where it should be
