Wilfried Bony 2015/2016 Performances

It's baffling the way we chose to play him. Personally I thought it was a decent enough idea to start him today against Norwich as I figured they'd park the bus, we'd sling in crosses to him and Kun would pick up any pieces with the extra space he'd get from them having to worry about Bony in the air (the classic Michael Owen scoring headers because everyone is marking Crouch England strategy :P ).

But instead we chose to play him, but to just use him like we would Kelechi, when Kelechi is just much better at doing that role of coming short and playing passes. It makes no sense.

Sadly we had Clichy and Silva on the left both of whom are wank at crossing the ball with pace.

And on the other flank we have the speedboat without a pilot just twatting it into the shins of the first defender in his way.

A disgrace.

I urge anyone to freeze the frame if they can when Sergio gets dragged down on edge of penalty area, because of no support.

This fat fraud was stood on the centre circle at a breakaway.
I'd bench him for the rest of the season. Rarely in a position to score, ambles around, no closing down and no threat to the opposition. Nacho must shake his head in disbelief when Bony starts ahead of him.

I counted on the game thread 4 separate times Bony showed for the ball and Silva 3 times and Aguero once made conscious and dumb desicions to ignore him and try a harder pass. 3 of the 4 times we lost the ball.

Was Bony slow, and sluggish? Yes. Was he often ignored even when he showed for the ball? Yes. Why did we not win today? Because Silva was gash, and Aguero was well 'trying too hard'.

But Bony's laziness is akin to Navas's hitting the first defender on half his croses. An irrelevant overanalysis when the superstars actually were gash.

The difference between Bony and the performance of those superstars is those players have won us games, played brilliantly over a period of four or five years and like all players they have poor games.

Bony has contributed very little over the period he has been here and even when he plays his contribution and effort are minimal a complete contrast to those world class players you are referencing.

The whole purpose of having back up players is when the likes of Silva/Aguero have poor games or are struggling due to a spate of recent games the likes of Bony can come in and contribute. Once again he has failed miserably.

When the cross comes in he is always too slow to react. Last game I think navas or someone served a perfect ball for tap in and he was yard slow.

It makes no sense.
Unfortunately it does to the fella making the decisions and until he is relieved of his duties expect similar....and much more head scratching. We really should have more points on the board, and in the main, thats not down to the players.

It seems you guys just can't help nog sticking your head in the ground.

My defense if Bony is a non defense. He is irrelevant. Those who wee supposed to win us a game against the worst team in football were crap. And that's why we failed. We should have beaten Norwich with 9 men. We've beaten better teams on a red card before. Bony is irrelevant.

A big lump who can't hack it at this level. Everyone knows that. That's why he is a backup and not a starter.

The sure fire WzC players were wank. That should be the focus, not some irrelevant player who lasted 55 minutes.

None of the players who started are irrelevant. What kind of nonsense is that?

Bony's inclusion forced us to play a particular way, there are things that are expected of him as a minimum in order to allow us to be effective playing that way, in that system. Aguero fulfilled his duties, Bony met none.

The key players weren't great, but you're missing the point. Our problem was creating chances, Bony is a large part of that. Aguero can create chances on his own, Bony can't, he doesn't have the same technical qualities, that's a given.

What Bony needs to do is hold the centre half off and demand the ball to feet, bring others into play or play a one two. He didn't do this. The few times he actually tired he failed. His other duty is to be in the right areas to receive the ball from a cross, maybe to occasionally work the channels, stretch the back four. Be a nuisance. A bit of fucking graft.

We had the possession, our wide players were shite, and they deserve criticism for their failings also. But Bony wasn't even in the area to receive the ball from a wide area at times, he didn't even make the effort to join a break on at least one occasion.

He was fucking woeful.

For you to overlook that simply because you don't consider him integral to the side is the fucking inverse of the apparent scapegoating you seem critical of others for doing: placing all the criticism on the key players, even when they play alright, and overlooking the enormous failures of other players in the side because they don't meet your criteria of relevancy. It's bonkers rationale.

You realise this is a team sport right? You can rely on your key players to bail you out at times, but the others aren't peripheral, irrelevant - everyone has a key role in the success and failure of the system we set up each week.

And Bony's failings were by far the most glaring today, simple as that. I'd say shortly followed by Navas and Sagna. But this is the fucking Bony thread after all, might want to remember that.

The problem with bony is that he ain't very good, he got the chance of a big money move and rightly took it, he knows everyday he goes to work he is not up to the job so he understandably hides, he will be sold at a pittance to an average team, his bank balance will be bigger, fair play to him, well done to the dickhead who signed him

Was a terrible signing at the time and is proving to be worse than that now.

Bring back Dzeko, he's ten times the player of this fraud.
