£30m is dear but not outlandish.

Since before Alf's injury, we've not had a pairing of skilful strikers who both move around a lot and scrap for every ball. That served us well in the first half of last season.

Put it this way: would you want to be a defender up against Kun and Bony?

That's like coming up against a tank and a missile at the same time.

Disappointed we've got the cheque book out again for such a large amount. We'll be seeing the "moneybags" tag come back to the headlines. Would like us to focus on youngsters in the future.

Maybe we need to open a 200m academy somewhere?

In the meantime let's compete with our rivals and sign a quality player.

I loved the moneybags headlines days, not that they have completely gone away. The night we bought Robinho and the whole kaka saga were fantastic times. I don't think we would go back to signing ridiculous amounts of players for huge sums but it would be nice if we could buy a player when we wanted one without having to worry about whether the cunts in Munich and Stretford will allow it. I hope UEFA get taken to the cleaners by Dupont and the owner can go back to doing what he likes with his money. I'd also like Messi in the summer and for the papers to be awash with "money bags City" headlines.

I'm agree. I'm going to be struggling to sleep for the next few days for all the worrying about those "moneybags" headlines.

Sky News.

A toilet attendant has just signed for Manchester City Council in a £1m deal.

That's zero transfer fee, £14k wages p.a. for 45 years, plus pension, NI and sick pay, adjusted for inflation.

In the end It does not matter who's fault it was. The outcome is we were fined under FFP, the only Premier League Club to be so fined and we not only suffered the financial consequences of it and the depleted CL squad, but it gave ammunition to our enemies to use it against us, however eroneously, in perpetuity as and when they choose, it is a monstrous bollock.
The only monstrous bollock that's been dropped is us putting up with your moronic trolling.

Well I`m glad someone else has seen through this guy.Sounds more like a disgruntled Rag.

Don't be silly, we're a shortsighted club that only buy players for the here and now and don't look past our noses at the future?

200m for an academy.....pffft

Don't think the club should be run on the basis of the headlines written by a bunch of degenerates in the media.

I am as happy as anyone else about this prospective transfer. It's a great signing if it comes off.

Whilst the rags have given the job to a young lad who has been in their toilet attendant academy since he was 3 months old.

MCFC ruining toilet attendant jobs since 2008!

Yeah. At the very least I had hoped for someone that make a difference for us in Europe. A Reus or a Sanchez. 30m pounds used to the price for a world class player but not anymore. I had hoped for a money to be used in a youngish player like draxler but MP wants another striker so I guess bony will do.

and?

Could have been bollocks like most players linked wityh City in every window. This one came good.

If you read a few pages on this topic (skipping half the comments that relate to FFP - give it a rest on here ffs) Bony has suddenly turned into one hell of a player. He is -as stated before- a great player and I expect him to step up with the players we have around him. But it's no given.

1 - let him sign first and be pictured in a City-top (either with or without the leopard-hat)
2 - let him prove on the pitch he is actually worth whatever we gonna pay for him

So far, Dzeko has proved his worth for us, no matter what you think of him. Lost count of the over-important goals he scored for us.
On Jovetic the jury is still out as he has been iinjured most of the time and hasn't exactly scored matchwinning goals that led to any silverware. Yet.

Maybe add some realism to your opinion about the players we have compared to the one(s) that MIGHT come in.The grass is not always greener ...

I hope Jovetic is played more in a Nasri, Silva role now. I think he's fantastic at driving forward.

His best role is as a support striker not a classic attacking mid though.
