Wilfried Zaha

He gives it away all the time because that's what sort of player he is. He's a direct dribbler who pretty much just runs with it until he's tackled, that's his strength and Palace give him the licence to do that as they don't care if he fails most of the time as the positives far outweigh the negatives for a side that doesn't have a whole lot of other ways of creating anything. Stick him in our team and he'd stand out like a sore thumb for just how often he gives it away.

But think how good he'd be if Pep taught him to pass it to Kev or Silva after one of his dribbles, just before he gave it away - and after his dribble had commited another defender so leaving Kev & co with even more space.

I think he'd be a decent signing, a good addition to the squad.

I don't get the point in getting him if we're gonna get Sanchez. And even if we didn't, he's not worth the price he'll command.

We have to have some serious alternatives lined up for Sanchez, otherwise Arsenal have us over a barrel.

In the future I can see Pep moving Sane into a central attacking role, similar to what he's being doing with Sterling, hence Zaha is another option on the left. medium term it's even more fluid attacking options.........just don't know what this means for Sergio?

Under Peps tutelage Zaha could become a great player, he has his flaws but I genuinely feel he's a good player with a special player lurking within.

Depending on how much is asked, i'd have him as a good quality option on the left. When Sane is out/rested, we are a lot narrower, and easier to defend against with numbers in the box. It might not be Zaha, but someone like him to give quality cover on the left is a great idea imo. Maybe even a cheeky bid for Martial... ;-)

I like him but not for anything close to the reported £40m.
That's the going rate for a top PL club buying a homegrown established attacker now though. Can't see Palace selling him mid season anyway, far too much of a risk in their position and the fans would riot.

I agree they wouldn’t sell. I would be surprised if we bought him it’s not like we need homegrown players. There are better alternatives out there.

He's been really good this season and I still don't think we'll ever get Sanchez, but I'd still prefer Díaz. Not too keen on Moreno, who's gone missing this season, or Roberts, who blew his chance when he insisted on an easy ride in Scotland when he (reportedly) had loan offers from the PL.

If there one thing Arsenal don't have it is anyone over a barrel for Sanchez (or Ozil come to that). If they think keeping him for six months is worth there while they will do so irrespective of any other players. The only parties who can affect Sanchez's destination are Sanchez and potential employing clubs, Arsenal have a small say in timing and none in destination.

He doesnt fail most of the time though.

Well according to the stats he loses the ball 6.6 per game on average, so he really does. That's far more often than anyone on our team, despite him getting the ball far less often. That's before you even get started on his pretty appalling passing stats. He pretty much just puts his head down and runs with it until someone tackles him, or he gets fouled, or he takes a not very successful shot.

I wonder whether the Zaha stories are aimed at Sanchez to push his way out of Arsenal at Christmas- or potentially miss out on a move to City. He’s been relatively well behaved on the surface since Wenger fucked him over - maybe he and his agent nee to tell Wenger that if he’s doesn’t get a move at Christmas he might have a few injury problems coming on in the New Year ! It seems clear Wenger won’t let him go whilst he’s putting in a shift.

Hirving Lozano, could well be in the mix if the rumours of our interest are true. He prefers, and mainly plays on the left, but can play in the middle and on the right as well.

I'd think we could get him from PSV for less than £40 million. He has international experience. The rub I suppose is he'd take a foreign player spot whereas Zaha qualifies as home grown.

Well, they've already shown that whatever they decide to do won't make financial sense. That gives them done freedom: Wenger doesn't have to let him go in January, and if City really want him then, as opposed to the summer, he can be pretty unreasonable if he wants to be.

We could get Sanchez in Jan, let the gunners have zaha then in 2 years time we will take zaha off them lol
