47,000 @ £50 = £2,350,000

Good for the accounts next year.

Being pedantic, I'm sure it would be spilt with Barca. But the flip side is that the revenue from the second leg will be immense. At an average of 150 euros a ticket you're looking at 15,000,000 euros. Barca will get millions more from corporate sales from this game too because it's about 500 euros a pop. And with the tv revenue and corporate sales from the home leg, I bet city will clear ten mill for this fixture alone.

Being even more pedantic, it's 45,500 capacity for CL games, Cup scheme tickets were £45 and Home teams keep all revenues from CL matches. ;-)

Not when you add in corporate and boxes - that will take it back up. Plus also Jamie Oliver Paella Pies!!

So my pedantic post was more or less entirely wrong.

That surprises me about the revenue split.
I'm surprised that you're surprised, DD. UEFA aren't exactly renowned for their commitment to a fairer distribution of wealth, it's more about keeping the big teams happy.

Yeah, I thought that as soon as you posted it. Can't see the likes of Barca and Real Madrid being overkeen to split their fifteen mill with Villarreal or Cska.

Very naive of me in retrospect.

Behave

£50 for a champions league match against one of the best teams in the world?

I paid £50 to a tout outside Maine Road in 89 for a ticket to the Derby

Barcelona are charging a minimum 0f £77 for their leg

You can no longer go out with £20, get slaughtered and still have enough for a chippy and taxi home...

£50 is too much. I can't believe people are comfortable with, and quite happy to pay, £50 for one game.

You can pay the same for Brass and you only get 30mins*

*Apparently as I have never been so just what I have been told.

30 minutes? Does that include getting undressed/dressed, a shower and the obligatory cigarette afterwards?

The longest my er... mate has lasted was 48 seconds;-)

Gutted to miss this game, but I have a MRI scan at 4-45 (which takes about 40mins) and that is without factoring in any delays (usually around a hour ish), so will be watching on the old goggle box. Jealous as hell of all the lucky sods who will get to see 22 of the world's best on the field at the same time.

£50? might sound a lot for 1 game, but if you say it fast enough it's a fucking bargain.

Thanks to Viagogo (yuck) I'm a gogo but it's a shame that I have to spend money through that site and potentially less with the club, although I'm sure the club gets a little bit of the resale price. Can't wait!

How much extra is it?
