Will people cut the Robbie crap?

Even the great teams carry players bursting with flair and innovation who are not workhorses. Robbie fits this bill and will be back from injury fitter and ready to explode on the premiership with last years experience of the premiership behind him.

It is players of Robinho class that lift a team to a whole new level.

Exactly, Ronaldo never tracks back either but it's what he does at the other end of the field that makes him the most effective player on the planet.
If we filled sides full of players who run around a lot but don't actually create much then the game would be poorer for it.
We've got enough players in our side to defend effectively who can then pass it onto the likes of Robinho who can actually play a bit.
I reckon his head will be turned by Barcelona and all this talk is pretty much a waste of time though.

Yeh i reckon he'll be off and who can blame him as i suspect not many players will get a chance to join the best club team in the world but i'd be gutted if we lost Robinho. We've done ok without him but i've still seen enough to suggest that against teams that sit back and invite us to attack then he's needed badly. Fulham sat back and we struggled to break them down and the same happened against Villa last Monday until Ireland came on. Tevez is alright and works hard but he's not got the quality Robbie has on the ball and it's something we will always miss and i can't wait till he's back fit and ready to go

It's the same as the Richards story the press want to rock the boat at City knock us down for having the nerve to dare challenge the big 4. What they fail to see is that eventually a product goes stale if it stays the same long term, thats why even the likes of McDonalds introduce new products. A new team challenging for the title is exactly what the Premier League needs yet the press seem to take that as an insult so continue to churn out stories and proves that my decision not to buy newspapers is a good one.

i agree i said this yday ppl all of a sudden are talking about "yeah with yaya toure and ribery in our team"..blah blah ,,,its just like:S wtf we have robinho and he is staying.

What is it with all the Robbie hating all of a sudden? Just because he has been injured? We should be keeping Robbie and saying we don't need him is a very ignorant statement. Against We struggled to get anywhere near unlocking Villa's defence last Monday untill Ireland came on. This is the kind of moment of magic that Robinho can provide that would give us all 3 points as opposed to one. Saying we don't need him is ignorance and a complete lack of understanding of how football works. Selling him would also be a step back.
Could not agree more if you want a team of workhorses go watch another club. We are going to take on the world and to do this you need world class.

the problem that i and others have with him is simple. He never tracks back! Bellamy has played in his position for a lot of this season and has helped out with defending a lot, robinho would never do this, dont get me wrong, he is a quality player, but he just frustrates me at times, times when he should score but he doesnt. Put it this way, would we have scored 3 goals at the swamp with him in our side, erm......no. would we have beaten arsenal, certainly not. he would never of done what bellamy did for SWP's goal. to say we should get rid is a little over the top tho, why would we??? i do think we need to play him more upfront though, maybe like this
GIVEN
ZAB TOURE LESCOTT BRIDGE

TEVEZ DE JONG BARRY BELLAMY

ROBINHO
ADEBAYOR

AND BEFORE YOU ALL START GOING WHAT ABOUT SWP, KOMPANY, PETROV ETC ETC, THIS IS WHAT I HONESTLY THINK OUR STARTING 11 SHOULD BE, THEN ROBINHO WOULDNY HAVE TO START TO TRACK BACK AS MUCH, ADE DOES THAT ANYWAY. WHAT DO YOU GUYS RECON, SORRY FOR CAPS
Awesome

Did you go to the Arsenel game last season
If so who scored and who was mom
yes i did actually, he played brilliantly. if he was putting in performances like that nearly all the time(like he should for a player that cost £32m) then we wouldnt be having this debate. like i said, i would like to see him playing just behind ade, where he doesnt really have to track back as much.

I'd love to see him playing in a free-role behind Ade.

Also i think Ireland links up brilliantly with Robbie, they seem to be on the same wavelength.

Unfortunately, I think we're going to struggle to keep Robbie as it seems Barca are very serious in their interest. Hopefully if he does manage to get the move, we will replace him with Ribery...
