Will they fire Mancini?

We have a very expensive team, but it is certainly NOT the 3rd best squad in Europe. Not even certain it is the best in England. Best first 11 in England, but not that great in many areas and overstocked in other areas.

Are you for real? Which team in England has a better SQUAD than us?

-- Fri Mar 16, 2012 10:34 pm --

Does anyone think Mancini will succeed in Europe?

Yes I think he will. I actually think the way he thinks as a coach is more suited to Europe than it is to the premiership.

I can't believe you've actually written that. Where is the evidence? Inter were crap in Europe under Mancini & so are we. Mancini will not bring us European success and I'm doubting he will win us the League. The fact is we should be way way way ahead of United.

Yep,he's been given all the tools needed to win the league,if he fails I'm not sure keeping him for the sake of continuity is the answer. He's done ok for us but he makes serious errors with selection and tactics away from home and doesn't seem to be learning from them.

- he kills players' form with constant, often illogical, rotations.
- he doesn't analyse opponents nor adapts according to that... the fail with the starting 11 in the last game is not his first.
- he allows selfish play, where he should "punish" it and discourage. therefore, no real team spirit among the players.
- mostly there's no real team play - everything depends too much on individual effort and brilliance: will silva do his magic tricks, will aguero dribble past 5 players himself and so on.
- the brilliant play city had at the beginning of the season is sort of.. read by everyone. did mancini bring something new, surprise the opponent, change tactics, use players in a different way? i think not. there was so much talk about the depth, 3 players at the top, together with silva, nasri, yaya, so many possible combinations. yet, it's obvious to me mancini doesn't know how to use all that potential.
- doesn't adapt to players' needs to maximize their performances and use them in the best possible way. either you fit in his mold or you end up on bench. he has aguero, balotelli and dzeko, all 3 top top players and he talks about robin van persie??
- says tevez will never play for city again and then he eats his own words, after tevez treated the whole club like shit.
- anyone who says city should be far far in the lead in EPL is damn right. i'm just sick of all the excuses. mancini has managed to drop out of every possible competition and he even tries making it look good, "we can now fully concentrate on the league". rubbish.

do city fans really need at least 2 seasons of not winning anything to realize mancini is just not good? to me it's already agonizing to watch what he does with a team that has so much potential, and just needs a firm hand and someone who knows what he's doing to sweep all the trophies.

Mancini is a fanstastic tactition in my eyes but lacks man managment which for me is the best asset in any manager, look at Guardiola; now to me he is a good tactition, not as good as Mourinho but his man managment is one of the best, he absolutley adores them players and treats them like brothers.

On another topic, I was watching the Damned United and some will not agree with me here but if we had Brian Clough (RIP) now for example we would have had no Tevez saga or any ego situations and the league would of been wrapped up along with a few trophies IMO, he would of made sure every player would play in to their up most ability and get their moneys worth!!

I have been supporting City for a long time and our resurgence has been fantastic to watch, but there are bound to be lots of ups and downs.

To be honest, I'm not even sure that winning everything at once will be that satisfying in the long term - part of the pleasure of supporting a team is celebrating the successes after suffering the bad times (and we've had enough of them!). And that is also why Rags will never get it!

I'm not what you would call a critical supporter, my glass will always be half full where City are concerned, so I'm looking forward to the title run-in with extreme excitement and, win or lose, I want Mancini to be there next season taking us onwards and upwards!

Great post. And I agree 100% with your sentiments.

Fucking hell, have I dreamed this last season and a bit? I was sure we won the FA Cup last May and were lying second in the Premier League with a whacking great points total.

Turns out we're actually fucking shite.
