Will we ever be rubbish again?

If we drop out of the top four there will be a mass bluemoon "lemmings over the cliff" moment, thereafter the newbies will accept it...

Surely we just need Pep to leave his blueprint for success in the safe and pull it out when needed..... if Arteta is the man to pick up the reigns then he should know it inside out by the time Pep shoots off....and repeat....!!! Or am I over simplifying it ?

Hey excuse me!! I put up with 35 years of mainly crap, watching the skills of Buster Philips, Gordon Dalziel, Tony Cunningham, Trevor Christie, Bernardo Corradi and countless others, players so mediocre a new word had to be created to describe their performances. Thousands of pounds and countless shattered dreams and humiliation was invested in the forlorn hope that my club and myself would one day win the lottery and play the style of football I had always dreamed of, winning trophies galore in the process. Now we have I ain't going back and we have years of dross to make up for yet!

I think at some point in the future we may be a bit shit and fail to get 100 points, I doubt we will ever be really shit and not get 90 though.

We will have a blip sometime but always be in top 4 next few years and a some good cup runs

Of course we will be. Nobody thought the rags would be shit again - it was inconceivable. But things change quickly in football. One poor managerial appointment and it can spiral pretty quickly. The only way is down after Pep when you think about it! He is coaching perfection.

Yes we will but we won't be really shit

Pep has us playing amazing football but when he leaves there will be a drop off in quality and we could be 4th or 5th quite easily.
Have to look beyond Pep - yes he is at the forefront of innovation in the modern game - and has had a massive influence on the club - but look at the infrastructure that the group has in place now - satellite clubs worldwide that will harness all the best young players from different continents - world class youth academy/modern stadium - strong financial structure - management committed to long term planning - yes history has taught us that success in the game can evolve in cycles - but there is a difference in a slight drop in standards and becoming shit - as in losing to Stockport/Macclesfield/Luton shit - was a crucial period when rags were at the top and had to replace Ferguson - thankfully they fucked it up big time - hopefully we won’t do the same when Pep moves on
