Will we ever ultimately slay the RAG Empire?

Football is money, and they have the capacity to make a lot of it. That will keep them in the race. It would take something catastrophic to truly take them down. Even then they'd be back in no time, like Juventus.

Blues better just get used to the idea of fighting them. Some years we'll be stronger, some years they will, some years Chelsea or Arsenal. We won't win everything every year no matter how much money we have. The sooner Blues accept this the better.

Once Baconface goes (hopefully after tonight) they've lost half their advantage.

I agree with the above...the reason he has not already gone is down to US now being the challengers. It has obviously sparked his withered ticker to start beating somewhat faster.

Take baconface out of that club and prop someone else in and the first sign of a wobble and the press will be onto it like a flash - it will not only be the end of baconface's reign but the beginning of the current love-in held by the media which will give us something extra to laugh about.

But they will always be there as the revenue they generate allows them to acquire the services of star players - we have to accept that, just as much as they now have to accept that we are eating at the same table

Agreed, they've spent 20 years entrenching themselves at the top table, they're not going to suddenly implode. I'm quite relaxed about slugging it out with them at the top for the forseeable future - for one thing the rags will absolutely hate it, they can't stand us being their biggest rivals, it was the same in the Mercer/Allison era.

With the Etihad campus training complex, City have done something which will benefit us in the long term. No other club has something to look forward to like that. It's outstanding.

City are building something which will revolutionise football.

Meanwhile, United announced that their training centre has a new sponsor's sign above the entrance.

We just need to wait a little longer............
