Willy has to play in the Final

When Willy has a bad game it usually doesn't involve making 1 or 2 mistakes, possibly leading to goals, he pretty much completely falls apart and so does the defence, and he flaps and fumbles and starts to drop things and make silly decisions and do strange things.

I don't know why I keep coming on this thread, I'm resigned to him starting on Sunday.

Can't say anything to refute your opinions as mine are exactly the same.
Everyone keeps banging on about the goals he concedes, but for me it's the knock on effect his blundering has on the defence (who aren't immune to the odd clanger without any prompting). EVERY SINGLE shot at goal with Willy between the sticks has my heart in my mouth as he's only ever a single heart beat away from dropping some sort of unforced error into the mix. I can't see our defenders being any different
EXAMPLE - The first half against Chelsea, cross comes in, no attackers advancing, no defenders in the way, Willy comes to collect, OH NO!, the ball bounces, Willy can't cope, instead of just collecting it into his chest he sort of "shovels" it about 20 feet into the air. NO pressure. NO challenge. He just brings pressure onto us, which we inevitably crack under, giving away corners, etc...etc...etc...

Obviously he plays on Sunday, why wouldn't he?

I think he is one of the worst 2nd keepers we have had going way back to the shit days, he literally inspires no confidence in the defence. We could play with a cardboard cut out and get the same result in a game. I know fans are not the best reviewers of players in bad times but nobody could say he has been a success in anyway at least pants had a point until it was obvious he was quite shit as well

Reasonable poibt in the main with Willy having a poor and nervous game on Sunday, however IMHO:
1. If the defenders lose confidence if Willy is flapping then we've bought the wrong defenders. We need more leaders in defence and midfield!
2. Willy could have done better on the cross that bounced in front him but it dipped late and it is better he shunts the ball away 20 yards then five yards for a tap in. The free kick was easily his biggest gaff.

Joe is the better keeper but he hardly gets a positive mention from commentators compared DeGea, Cech, Butland and Lloris. Maybe this is just prt of the bias as Joe has had a good season!
