Wimbledon 2023 | Alcaraz beats Djokovic in the final

Great final. Overall in the men’s side it was pretty poor tournament but that final was brilliant. Don’t get the hatred for Djokovic. He’s proven himself as the best ever against the 2nd and best ever who we’re always the crowds favourites
Yeah, I agree about it being a poor tournament, except for the final, which was excellent.

To be honest, I don’t think you get the best games at Wimbledon. It took two very good players on grass to give us the game that we’ve been waiting for.

The matches in the French Open are far more competitive - and obviously Eurosport’s coverage is miles better than the BBC. I paid £7 for a monthly pass just to watch the French Open and it was well worth it.

It sounds like he thinks he’s lost today when he didn’t deserve to, to make up for winning ones he shouldn’t have
I don’t think he meant that. However, from his point of view as the best ever who’s found a way to win so many times. He probably thought if he’d put that routine volley away at the start of the 5th to go 2-0 up he would have won it. Fine margins as usual at the very highest levels of sport

Ok, she has had injury problems but she seems to not understand how to sustain her career. She keeps sacking coaches with the ludicrous statement that she knows more than they do. I don’t think her father helps the cause much. She needs a complete rethink and some hard advice. If she doesn’t do that her career is over.
A terrible pity for one who is a major talent.

She wins a major title made for life, Thinks she knows best, Sacks the coaches because she does not like to put in the hard yard being asked by them, Also the injuries are from not training correctly and lack of gym work to build your body core,

Other than that she played well to win her first and only major title,

Annabel Croft has done alright for herself considering her career was hardly noteworthy. Handled the post match duties very well though.
Especially considering her husband died a few weeks ago of Cancer. She must still be grieving. I like Annabelle and wish she could take over from Clare Balding who has just asked the most stupid question of Alcaraz!! Get someone who understands tennis BBC.

Claire Balding is on telly more than united and liverpool

When will the serve and volley come back into tennis and Wimbledon, it was all over and done in under 2 hours
Funny when you look back at the old Wimbledon, the courts with worn patchy grass down the middle and not on the baseline like today's courts

I think she got lucky in one tournament, has done nowt since, seems to be very weak physically and mentally. She’s got less hunger than me on a Saturday night before a kebab. She is minted for life though
I totally agree @BringBackSwales. Too much too soon maybe? She doesn’t seem to have the hunger that people like Katie Boulter and Heather Watson have and I sometimes wonder when she’s actually playing if she gives up too weakly.
