Windows 10

How long will they continue to support 7? I used XP until the bitter end then went to 8 which is bloody awful.
I have the chance to load a dodgy copy of 7 onto my laptop but could take the jump to 10.
They actually stopped mainstream support back in January. If you've got a genuine copy you have 12 months to decide anyway but I wouldn't let it run out for sure.

Since downloading it last week I have had problems starting my laptop. The only way I can get it to "fire up" is to switch it off and then on again - most annoying!

I am no computer expert, but now think I was better off with windows 7 as I see very few improvements with windows 10.

It's perhaps telling that it is laptops that seem to be having most problems. That's got to be down to not getting the correct drivers installed (presuming they're available of course).

Having a quick look on Google this may help (emphasis on may :0 )

PRESS Ctrl + Alt + DEL together.

On process tab close explorer.exe if it's open.

On the applications tab click start new task.

Finally in the box type ''explorer.exe''

Reboot.

It seems to be a corrupt reg entry problem.
Didn't seem to do anything mate.

@Pride_In_Battle I thought that too but then surely even the recycle bin would display in the folder?

@pudge, try right clicking in the folder and go to properties. Make sure that the 'hidden' checkbox isn't ticked. Then go to the 'View' tab at the top of the folder and click on 'Hidden Items' to show anything hidden. If all your icons are there but classed as hidden just select everything and right click again and uncheck 'Hidden'.

Have you tried turning it off and on again?
