Windows 10

Well finally updated to Windows 10 checked it this morning as I left my computer updating over night and low and behold it's messed my Nvidia drivers (I updated the windows 10 ready drivers the other day) and it won't read my ethernet cable either!

Anyone know how to sort the ethernet problem out? Just says it can't identify the ethernet and it worked fine yesterday.

As for the GPU drivers I'm going to sort our Nvidia drivers when I get home from work later.

It said it did find corrupt files but the desktop folder is still the same. Would I have to restart the laptop or is there something I have to do before I shut down the command prompt?
You can shut the command prompt down as long as it's finished and then restart. That's presuming you're still waiting for my reply :)

During the beta testing people had similar problems to yours, some managed to fix it but it looked fairly technical. I don't know what your competency with computers is to point you that way since I don't want to permanently break it. Do you know how to create a CD or USB install media to try the repair options?

You could always copy and paste the desktop files/shortcuts off your actual desktop to the desktop folder as a short fix?
That would only work for the existing ones though, there's not much point to doing that when it's a fix he really needs.

I meant until a fix become available if one isn't already out there, it isn't really that much of a hassle to do if you don't add new desktop items every day and even if you did it literally takes a minute to do.
