Wolves (A) | Post Match Thread

A bit shocked to see the match thread. After watching the game, some things are quite clear. Going 2-0 with a red card so early killed all intent. Halaand will get better and better, the rest of the team will take more time. Given the extent of the effort required to sustain this part of the season, it’s quite ok to go slower now, conserve energy, and avoid injuries.

Akanji will only grow, alongside the rest of the new signings. We end the day top of the PL, with a really solid performance.

People need to chill, we cannot win every game 8-0 playing samba football. Give that we scored nearly as many goals as Wolves conceded in 6 games i would say it was clinical, tactical and calm.

For Julian, more games to follow.

In conclusion, 3 points, clean sheet, good minutes, 1st place, and we move. God bless this team, and the immense happiness it gives us. Hope the rest of you blues have a lovely weekend.

Bizarrely enough the sending off probably saved Wolves a pasting.
2-0 against ten men we didn’t need to force play anymore, this meant we just sat back nonchalantly knocking the ball about knowing the third would eventually come, but we looked a bit tired and sloppy and if they got a goal it would have been an interesting finish.

but, we put it to bed and pleased Jack played well.

Aside from a strangely lethargic, sloppy and clumsy 20 second half mins we weren't really troubled. The goals were great, pity we didn't grasp the nettle second half. Some of our passing was sloppy at times, balls played later than they should have been. With quicker thing and more incisive passing we would have scored more.

Easy win without really getting out of 3rd gear, cant imagine pep being to happy with the 2nd half performance mind, so pleased for jack he was superb throughout much more like it from him

Can't complain about a 3-0 win, but we could have slaughtered them if we turned up in the second half.

Jack and Bernardo on the left and Kevin and Phil on the right is the way to go against most sides.
Totally agree with this... very good balance of the team, with this wingers gets help... not much to complain about if you win 0-3 away but there could have been a much larger goal count if we turned up in second half but for some reason we let wolves carry the ball and we counter. Not sure why but Wolves werent really dangerous, its more that we could have inflicted so much more damage. But that might have been greedy :-)

Practically strolled through the game today, some Stand out performances, special mention for Jack who really worked hard. Credit to Wolves though down to ten men and they put a shift in.

£15M for Akanji

Fucking bargain
Hang on, he’s gone from £18 million to £15 million in the space of two posts. I actually thought his cost was £13 million pounds / €17/18 million euros!
Whatever, agreed, he’s slotted straight in hasn’t he? He’ll certainly be handy for any PL teams who fancy scoring through physicality/set pieces.
Penny for Ake’s thoughts though …
